Amazing food at this traditional French bistro Family run by people who clearly know how to cook food in the French style. You need to book a table even at lunch time to be sure of a meal. The place was packed. The atmosphere was buzzing. The waiters were very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu choices. My husband enjoyed his snail starter and I had the most delicious French onion soup. My fillet steak was cooked to perfection with a lovely wine and meat jus sauce. Sadly we didn’t have room for deserts but they looked gorgeous. Definitely somewhere to return when we are back in Oxford.

If you are reading this review to assess whether you should dine here, STOP READING AND GET RESERVING We visited on a Saturday lunchtime in mid-October. All of the options on the Prix Fixe sounded amazing and the ones we had were. I especially recommend the goats cheese soufflΓ© if it’s on your menu The restaurant was busy but despite this, the service friendly and prompt (not overly, just right) I think the menu is good value for money with no compromise on quality. If you have read this far without booking then I am judging you. Do it already

A nice little French restaurant in busy Oxford. We had a lunch booking for a small celebration. We thought the venue looked attractive from the outside & must also be atmospheric inside. It was possibly true on ground level. However we were led upstairs upon our arrival where the atmosphere was definitely not quite the same. Also the stern looking waitress who led us upstairs gave us quite an austere vibe. We were rather taken aback till we found subsequent waiters were really helpful & welcoming. Food on the other hand, was pretty good, better than most we had tried in the capital, that is, of course, apart from the really high end ones.

The food here was excellent as always. Starters were prompt, and delicious, I had cheese souffle, my husband had a duo of pate, both were a good size. The main was course was also fantastic, chicken with a pernod sauce, and my husband had venison. We really should have stopped there as we were actually full, but sight of tarte tatin on the desert menu tempted us. It was delicious, but I couldn't finish it, such was the size of the portions. We also had a bottle of house Merlot which was very good. Service was prompt and polite, it really is a delightful treat to eat at Pierre Victoire!

Incredible dinner with myself. Book a reservation even if just for 1 as this place is small and busy. Burrata, duke, and dessert were all wonderful from start to finish. Paired with the half bottle of CΓ΄te du RhΓ΄ne and complimented the duck so well.

We went for our wedding anniversary. We used to live in Paris and spoke French but none of the staff did. We were met by a stony faced female. She neither heard nor reacted to any of my requests. However when my husband asked she reacted. The rest of the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was good. You have to book and be exactly on time or you will be given short shrift.

Very tasty French food with generous portions. All dishes have a lovely blend of flavours, and are well balanced. The desserts are quite average, so we opted to skip them the second time we visited. The service is minimal, and this is reflected in the lack of service charge. Although the price of the meal overall would be about the same for a restaurant of similar quality with service charge.

Really nice place. It's not inexpensive. The prices are quite high, at least for my budget. Fixed price- 28.50 for two course. 34.50 for three course. And the alcohol is expensive too. But if you want to have a high-end dinner in Oxford and you have the money to spend, this is a fantastic choice. Good location- Little Clarendon Street. Lots of seating space. Ground floor, outdoors, upper floors. Very well maintained. Helpful, friendly staff. The food is delicious. The portions are good, especially for the main course. I tried a lot of the dishes and everything tasted superb.

We had a nice dinner! It was Sunday evening, we walked in with no reservation. They told us that they’re fully booked tonight however there is a spot for only an hour now. It actually worked perfectly for us! Everything was very tasty and served at the perfect time. Great service!

Heard it's one of the best French restaurant in town. We made a reservation for dinner and by the time we got there, the restaurant was fully packed. We were served with some bread and butter. They were really yummy. I ordered 2 courses meal, entree and main course both were vegetarian. The entree was roasted parsnips on pastry puff with balsamic dressing. It was nice and I had this three beans curry with couscous. The taste was just ok but the portion was big.
