Very disappointing stay! We stayed for 2 nights at The Castle Hotel, Ruthin. The hotel is in a great location on the square, paid parking around the back and the food was ok. Very happy with the room except we had cold water in both the sink and shower the whole stay. We did mention it on 3 occasions and promised by the manager to have a look but no one came or sorted for us. A great stay but very disappointing with the customer service.

Grand Wetherspoons a bit nicer than your average Wetherspoon. Standard grub with decent selection of ale. Guinness was ok. Ale was relatively cheap,as you’d expect. Nice for a refreshment after Ashe it walk around the lovely town.

What a beautiful premises!!! The building has so many hidden rooms to eat in. It's quirky with the statues and the plaque on the floor at the entrance. The outdoor seating was beautiful with a lovely view and the ladies toilets were gorgeous! We'd popped in for a Monday lunch and had the Monday Club meals - the "3 Small dishes for £10". There was 2 adults and 3 children (5, 8, 11) in our party and we all had enough to eat! Even left some of the chips as we were all full up. The food was heavenly and everything we tried was really tasty. For a Weatherspoons the portions were generous and well worth the money! Cheap pints on a Monday too. We all loved it and the beautiful beer garden to finish off our drinks. Highly recommended!!!

We stayed for 2 nights recently. The managers on both the day and evening shift were very helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable albeit odd positioning of the twin beds. I couldn't see my daughter when speaking with her as there was a wall in the way but I think it's more to.do.with the position of the building and can't be helped. It just felt a bit odd. We ate there twice and it was decent and cheap. We were especially grateful for the free tea and coffees for staying guests. Overall, a positive experience.

Very impressed with this Weatherspoons pub. Best presented breakfast i have eber had in a 'spoons'! Best cooked one as well. The position is gorgeous with view of all the surrounding area. And there is a huge outside terrace. The staff were delightful!

Obviously a busy venue due to being the only place available to get food in the evening at Ruthin. The service was great - very friendly and efficient staff. However the food was very limited (a large number of items on the menu were not available), and what was available was very basic and nothing special. Menu's were filthy and pub heating was turned off very early so cold. There were hearth fires but unless you sat near one it was not pleasant. Fine for a drink but would not recommend a meal here. You are best staying home!

Nice surprise weekend break. Pub is big and Saturday night was really busy. When ordering food and drink, the service was fast, felt like I’d just closed the app on my phone and the drinks were being placed on our table. Room was cosy with nice views. Waking up in the morning to just stroll downstairs for a large Wetherspoons breakfast can’t get any better. We’d like to try another spoons hotel somewhere else. Staff at the Castle were superb 10/10

Took two visits to sus how we got a bite to eat and a cuppa as we'd never been to such a place before but well worth it as we had two decent 'meals' and as much cuppas as we wanted for under a tenner. Will call again for sure. The lady that served our food only minutes after ordering even took the time to ask if we were OK or needed anything else. GREAT, GENUINE SERVICE. APPRECIATED!

One of the most amazing Wetherspoons in UK in the most central and noblesse buildings in charming town Ruthin. Staff is polite, quick and friendly. Food is expected with fast food (no)quality, but who cares. I really enjoyed my stay here

Great breakfast! Bacon actually cooked properly. Only slight downside was the staff were a bit pushy cleaning the plates, coming over to take stuff as soon as the last bite was in, and leaning right over us unexpectedly - which was a bit uncomfortable. It happened on two different days as well, and they weren't even busy. (I should say, I don't object to clearing plates - we even helped! - just that they would swoop on you as soon as the fork was down, without saying anything, and made me jump twice at just having a person suddenly leaning over the table within inches of my face!)
