We came for lunch with friends. We all planned to eat lightly with a glass of wine, but ended up savouring the festive menu with bottles of champagne. The food was outstanding; the turkey lunch in particular was rich in flavour and thoroughly delicious. It's a perhaps more expensive venue in Edinburgh, but the quality of the food made this a nice treat. We had to hunt for waiting staff on occasion, but a very pleasant afternoon at The Balmoral all-in.

A very enjoyable evening, received really friendly and attentive services from the staff, and all the food and wine we had were excellent. The venison saddle with foie gras was particularly spectacular.

Fabulous spot! Had a really memorable and special time dining in style. Itβs the perfect place for a leisurely, boozy lunchβbeautiful interiors, a laid-back vibe, and ideal for sharing a few plates over a good bottle. The food and drink were top quality, packed with flavour. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and indulge in a stylish setting. Understandably considered Edinburghβs best hotel!

We stopped here for lunch, and it was a great stop! The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The venue was packed, so there werenβt any free tables to sit and eat, but we managed to grab a spot at the bar tables, which worked out just fine. What really stood out was the vibrant ambiance, there was live music playing, which added so much to the overall vibe. The service was excellent too, the staff were attentive and friendly despite how busy it was. If youβre looking for a spot with great food, good energy, and a fun atmosphere, this place is definitely worth checking out!

We were here after being given a meal for two gift experience for Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Although the restaurant was quiet, the atmosphere felt great and the music was perfect, making the restaurant somewhere we would certainly return to. Portion sizes were very generous and almost too much, which is always a pleasant surprise at a restaurant of this stature. We opted for the white wine included in the experience, and although it was the cheapest on the menu, we would happily drink it again. The service from all the waiting staff was brilliant and there was never a moment when we were uncomfortably waiting for anything.

Fantastic Prince punch cocktail and customer service. The staff who served us was very knowledgeable about drinks and cocktails and her recommendations were excellent.

Lovely for an afternoon break and cocktail with oysters - we didnβt have a reservation but the crew managed to fit us in :) I ordered the Perfect Serve and it was perfect. Our only regret was we didnβt get a dozen oysters instead of half a dozen!

Certainly more a 4.5*. The informal and relaxed restaurant of the well renown Balmoral Hotel (Sean Connery, JK Rowling among others are names associated to this wonderful hotel). A Brasserie more in name than in essence, it'a very stylish and chic restaurant offering high quality French cuisine, with well executed and presented dishes, providing a relaxed dining experience. The staff are great, very professional and attentive providing an excellent service. Comfortable and visually pleasing, combines a palette of colours and materials. Soft blues and greens contrasting with the paper and stained oak panels in the walls. Square sections of ceiling with green and white stripes, recessed lighting and globular dimmed candlelight in the middle is very pleasing and gives a warm and cosy feel. My choice of Chicken liver parfait and Scottish salmon, baby leeks and truffle hollandaise sauce was, as expected, very well cooked and presented. The choc fondant with mint ice cream a fitting end to a delicious meal. Very highly recommended!
