   We visited Scran for brunch on a Sunday mid morning. We ordered the hot chilli toast with honey and halloumi, plus the Scottish full breakfast. For drinks we had Malteaser and Biscoff & caramel milkshakes. The milkshakes were delicious and sweet. The Scottish breakfast was very average but the hot chilli toast with halloumi was tasty and flavourful. We would recommend to again but avoid the Scottish breakfast and order the pancakes instead and those looked tasty (although we didn’t try them)!

   Absolutely delicious. Not sure if the phallic latte art was accidental or because the barista doesn't like me, but it was hilarious regardless. The food was phenomenal, amazing flavours, super fresh, the perfect way to fuel up before walking all over Edinburgh for the day! We had the avocado,egg, cheese flatbread with chipotle mayo, and the biscoffe banana panckaes respectively. Highly recommended.

   Lovely place to visit while on you are near Royal Mile. Staff is courteous and food is great. There can be a bit of wait for getting a table as it is popular. They offer all day dining and many more things on the menu.

   I had 4 days in Edinburgh in late September 2025, and this was my favorite breakfast place. My sandwich -- eggs benedict on top of a double-decker avocado toast with black pudding, hash browns and bacon -- was delicious and filling. Coffee was good, and service was friendly.

   Sept 2025 - We visited the Scran Bistro again. A friendly staff member seated us in the arcade ( it was a beautiful day) and our drinks order was taken quickly. I had a wonderful vanilla cappuccino and my husband had a biscoff milkshake that looked amazing and he said was fantastic. The veggie full breakfast was scrumptious. Really enjoyed the vegetarian haggis. My husband gave his burger two thumbs up. Our server was very friendly, checked on us twice and gave us a cheerful goodbye when we headed out. We love Scran! Sept 2024 - We visited Scran Bistro after seeing it on the @ClanBroonford YouTube channel. It was very busy but we found seats in the arcade. A bit chilly but we soon had delicious coffees to warm us up. My cappuccino was probably the best I’ve had outside of Italy. My husband had a wrap and a Nutella shake which he said was absolutely amazing. I went for the veggie breakfast. It was very good but missing the vegetarian haggis which I was curious to try as I enjoy the non-veg version. I asked our server (who was very nice but very busy) but it never made an appearance. We still enjoyed our meal and will visit Scran again the next time we’re in Edinburgh.

   First of all the staff... You guys are super cool! Apart from good marketing on social media, the team welcoming you is fantastic, friendly and cheerful. Then the service... quick, effective, attentive, spot on. Lastly the food... not healthy of course but definitely mouthwatering, original and perfect for a Sunday brunch. Leave the mess at home for later. Who cares dusting, I need a mac n' cheese chicken wrap to keep me going!

   Stopped in here as it was chucking it down with rain. A bit disappointed everything seems to be served with chips which were just frozen standard french fries, no options for baked potato etc. Burgers big size. Chicken and pesto wrap unfortunately soggy as heated on a grill meant the pesto had separated and left the underside of wrap all greasy. Would have been better to offer it as a salad wrap cold. A bit pricey for lunch and better to be had elsewhere for less. Good coffee.

   Stopped in here for lunch. The food was nice with large portions. Staff were pretty inattentive, even though there were more than enough employees for the number of people eating here. They brought out the wrong kind of drink - with ice despite my request for it without - and weren't particularly friendly either. It seemed the role of two of the waitstaff was to amble around the dining area with nothing to do. We waited maybe 15-20 minutes before anyone enquired if we were finished, enough time for roughly four laps around our table. The entire dining area, and all of its patrons, were situated in one small room. For a chain with multiple locations, you'd think its workers would have more accessible training. Complaints aside, the food - pictured below - was good, and the restaurant was aesthetically pleasing. I doubt we would return to any of their locations due to this experience, especially when there are plenty of other eateries with staff who at least pretend to be happy to see you.

   This place offers a serious feed for a very reasonable price, especially considering the location. The staff were great and I couldn’t even touch the second half of my wrap, because of the generous portions. Scran doesn’t advertise “brunch” because you eat it between breakfast and lunch… it combines both meals into one!! Also, treat yourself to a coffee - I haven’t been able to find a nicer one in an Edinburgh café yet!
