This was my second visit to the Square Grill and just as enjoyable as the first. By request, we sat near the excellent pianist and enjoyed olives and cheesy garlic bread, followed by roast beef and pork. The food is delicious with generous portions, sadly leaving no room for the attractive desserts! The service is utterly immaculate - all staff are courteous, attentive and efficient. It was my husband’s birthday and to our surprise, the pianist played for us and a courtesy brownie and candle on a decorated plate were served. Thank you so much for this! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. All the other customers spontaneously sang to and applauded my husband. The venue is central and a simply perfect place for a delicious meal with excellent service.

It feels like I am overrating this place but in fact I can't think what to fault. I have always seen the restaurant as a tourist trap as it is just too central, too colourful, menu too long, too expensive, too much of everything when you walk by. But for one reason or another we sat down in the garden facing the abbey in a warm summer night. And everything was just 'right'. The waiter who served us was very friendly and service was generally quick, the table itself was not much but we kept our eyes on the abbey square. The menu almost looked like pub food but, from multiple pubs - there was something for everyone. But the reality is that everything was absolutely delicious. We had a baked camembert to share for a starter, followed by a succulent chicken and quite the tender schnitzel. If I need to be picky, I would say grilling the lemon for the schnitzel is unnecessary - you want raw tartness to balance fried breading, not gentle sweetness - but who can fault that, right!? And the portions were HUGE, very good value for the food you're getting.

We visited Square Grill in Bath and had a fantastic experience! The ambience was amazing, giving off a royal and elegant vibe. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was top-notch—very friendly and attentive staff. The location is perfect, right opposite the Roman Baths Museum, making it a great stop during your visit to the city. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a classy dining experience in Bath!

Had the three course meal and wow what a deal. All the food was great with good portions but it tastes like they have a great chef but don't let him buy great ingredients? If they up the price and used the quality of the food with the same chef I could see this being one of the best restaurants in England.

We were just passing and decided to go in. Although the brunch/lunch menu is small the food is excellent. I had the grilled Brixham sea bream with grilled vegetables; while my husband had the seafood linguine. Neither of us had room for dessert. Very hood service too.

Nice meal. Customer service was awesome. Nice & relaxing given the touristy atmosphere right outside. The Fruity non-alcoholic Mojito was delicious. I debated between the fish and chip and the fish cake. I chose the fish cake. It was good, but needed a bit more seasoning to bring out the flavor. Overall, not bad and would eat here again.

Good restaurant across the way from the Roman Baths. When we got there, they sat us right away. The inside it’s nicely decorated and the staff were attentive and polite. The food was disappointing. We ordered a soup of the day: mashed pea soup, and the bread that came with it was tasteless. Then we ordered the main courses: the burger and the fish cake. The burger’s meat was cooked to medium finish (I suppose it isn’t customary to cook their beef to medium rare) so it was on the dry side. I got the fish cake and it was good, nothing to brag about. It was a mixture of cod and potatoes, and had mashed peas and caviar on top. Good restaurant though the food wasn’t too good.
