   Decent food, lots of condiment sachets to take home when surplus to requirements. Decent drinks, some pretty glasses to add to my collection when finished. Decent parking, could do with more spaces when busy.

   Shannon was absolutely brilliant! So friendly, smiley, chatty, and just full of bubbly energy — a real credit to The Turnpike. It’s rare to meet such genuinely warm staff, and she made our visit much more enjoyable. There was a 45-minute wait for food on a Friday night, which is pretty standard and expected, but our online drinks order was missed for 15 minutes as the till doesn’t alert staff. We got a half-hearted apology, while walk-in bar orders were prioritised. Food was decent — generous portions and very tasty chips. We were seated in a dark booth behind a pillar, which gave us privacy and respite from the heat, though the booth seats were sticky. A mixed experience overall, but Shannon truly stood out and made the evening much better. She’s a real asset to the team.

   Enjoyed an absolutely delicious festive burger here with a nice pint of Doom Bar. Great pub - lots of natural light in the bar, great service, and burgers that are hard to beat elsewhere - especially for the price! The kebab topping on the fries was a particularly nice surprise - so many tasty flavours and a generous portion. Looking forward to going back soon!

   Went for Christmas day lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The table was dressed beautifully, the staff were attentive but not overpowering. The food was lovely and cooked perfectly. The service was set at our pace not when the kitchen was ready. All in all it was one of the most relaxing Christmas dinners I've had in over 30yrs. Thankyou to Kris and his staff for a fabulous Christmas dinner

   When dining out at the turnpike Soundwell I was served by a young lady that goes by the name Elise. This young lady was so polite, helpful and just went beyond my needs to make sure I was comfortable and happy with my visit. I would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. Couldn’t be happier with my visit.

   Have only been here twice but will definitely come again. I liked the atmosphere and the food was lovely. Thanks especially to Madison who was very helpful as one of my friends is very hard to please when it comes to ordering food. Thanks again and will definitely be back
