I ordered chicken and salmon. The salmon was fine, but the chicken was disappointing. It was heavily fried with a thick coating, and there didn’t seem to be an option for normal cooking. The menu didn’t mention that the chicken was fried, and there were no photos of the dishes, which made it hard to know what to expect. On top of that, the chicken came with a tiny piece of salad that was old and dried out.

Today was initiation day. We ordered haggis, needs, & tatties. First time for haggis. OMG! We put off trying haggis for 14 days. Why? Haggis was served. We shared this starter. Very rich & filling. Our server, Serena provided stellar service. Ambiance was enhanced when the singer/musician began playing. What a perfect evening.

We had a fantatsic Sunday Roast during the Fringe Festival. It's an excellent pub in a great area of town away from all the hustle and bustle but surrounded by excellent local shops, bars and cafes. The roast itself had the largest Yorkshire Pudding we've seen but it was light and tasty. I almost managed to get through it all!

Escaped from the rain for lunch at Hector’s. This place has plenty of varied seating options and a sizable menu that includes some daily specials. We chose the Drink and meal combo for about 13 pounds. Both were good but I preferred the clubhouse. I would highly recommend this as a possible stop along the nearby stream side walk.

A nice clean pub, but average food. Dry mash, and the sausages were dry, overcooked, Möre akin to a hotdog in texture.

After nearly 24 hours of planes and trains from Seattle found Hector's around the corner from my B&B. Friendly staff and delicious food. I had the sea bass and a tasty cider. Would highly recommend.

Came here on a Friday evening for dinner with a friend. We were sat at a table near the back, so it was quiet without losing the atmosphere. The service was impeccable - attentive and the servers had a sense of humour, which always helps. The food was delicious - really fresh and tasty. Good portion sizes. I thought it was reasonably priced. Would happily come back here!

Was happy to have a spot to move inside to when the rain started. Excellent fish and chips! We'd go back. Oh, and I love that they allow dogs.
