   I would like to share my feedback on my experience with Howdens Irvine branch. I selected and purchased a new kitchen and flooring at the start of January 2023 with this being fitted in May 2023. I started to notice issues around August with worktop and flooring which I raised with the joiner I selected to carry out the work. With no response from Howdens I decided to contact them directly. I reached on a number of occasions, to be met by a different employee on each which required me to relay the issues in full and also send images of the problems I was having. December comes around and I have still not received a response. I once again made contact and spoke to Nick who agreed that I should be ordered a new work top and flooring, he contacted my selected joiner and stated that he would be paid by them to carry out the work. I raised issues around who would fund the cost of the inevitable damage to plaster and ain't which I worked hard to have done. I asked if a refund for items was on offer. I was told this would be looked into. Again a few weeks passed and in January 2024 I contacted the team to be told that they will no longer accept responsibility that the items were faulty. I was stunned. I was then redirected to the head office where an offer of £300 was advised. They then offered to pay the cost of a surveyor however, should the findings come back with no fault in the product then I was liable for the cost. With the prospect of having to pay hundreds of pounds which unfortunately I have no access too then I reluctantly accepted £300 refund. I am now left with sub standard products, specifically the flooring which I cannot afford to replace. I have never experienced this level of poor customer service. I would not purchase from howdens again and would warn others against doing so.
