Highly recommend if you wanting to look for a music teacher. You'll get nothing but the best and feel great at the end of the lesson. I have been a drum student of Chris's for 9 years now and I have nothing but good things to say. I have cerebral palsy and he has been nothing but kind, patient and understanding with me. He has never made me feel like I can't do something, if I find something difficult, he's never dismissed it and classed it as something I've incapable of doing. Always willing to adjust and think outside the box to make it easier for me. As well as all this is a genuinely kind and lovely person who I feel privileged to have as a teacher. Also taught by his son Tom for the past 2 and a half years with piano and music producing, the kindness and patience has clearly been passed from father to son as I never feel judged or incapable by either of them.

I started lessons with Chris in 2010, after having tried a few different tutors in the Plymouth area and not quite gelling with any of them. After my first lesson with Chris, I knew that he would be the one to guide me on my journey to becoming a better drummer. His patience and knowledge of music and different styles are second to none, particularly being able to break down complex ideas to make them achievable and fun at the same time. Chris has a knack for making you enthusiastic for the instrument even when you're having an off day, his incredibly personable approach to the instrument is infectious, and through years of being his pupil i developed my playing to a level that i know I would never have achieved on my own terms. I cannot thank Chris enough for being my teacher, and now ten years down the line I am fortunate to be a professional musician utilising the skills he passed onto me every day. I could not recommend Chris enough, for any age or any ability, he is the best person to guide you, inspire you and push you to being a better drummer, and in my case a more patient individual.

Chris started teaching me about 13 months ago as I have been wanting to learn the drums for about 25 years and never got round to it so as a more matured student found Chris to be ideal for what I needed. Having previous musical experience at a high level on other instruments I found it refreshing that whatever area I am struggling with Chris manages to instantly have simple exercises to show me which helps me overcome the problem at hand. Couple this with the easy going studio environment the he has created makes weekly lessons one of the high points of the week. Seeing improvements in my playing week on week makes it an easy job to recommend Chris as a percussion tutor due to personal experience and understanding the musical background Chris has in many disciplines of percussion instruments ***** Tutor

I have been learning to play drums with Chris for roughly 7/8 years and can not suggest him enough to anyone looking for a drum tutor. Whether you’re a beginner or slightly more intermediate, Chris is a very patient and fun teacher who will make you feel comfortable and confident behind the kit. I’ve gone through all my grades with Chris and can not thank him enough for all the skills and knowledge he has passed onto me, Chris has always been critical in the best kind of way as he can help pick out weak and strong points of your playing ability to really give you a clear idea of where you can improve on and what you can incorporate into your playing style and this is just one of the many reasons why drumming lessons with Chris is a no brainier, if you’re considering drumming lessons then you’ve found your teacher :)

Chris has been my tutor for almost two years now and I always look forward to and thoroughly enjoy the weekly drumming session. I started drumming late in life & I am learning to play for fun primarily but also ambling through the rock school exams-definitely a slow amble! Chris keeps it light hearted and knows when to push or pull you to get the best outcome and mixes it up so you get a varied and rewarding lesson. I like the fact that I always come away with plenty to think about and practice ready for the following week.
