Mr Owen and his staff have always been an amazing team. Yesterday we lost our 16 year old retriever. We lost his brother 3 years ago. We have used this veterinary clinic the whole time as Mr Owen is an excellent vet. Very honest, compassionate and really cares for the animals.

Always fantastic service and looked after all my pets over the years but just this bank holiday my dog needed a blood test and I got a call 8pm Saturday night to say he needed some tablets ASAP and mr Owen was at the surgery and we could go and get them,He’d gone in just to see if our results were back. I will be eternally grateful for the excellent service we always receive and it will be a very sad time when mr Owen retires xx

Mr Owen has looked after our 4 dogs as if they were his own. He is always able to explain any problems clearly and and we have always felt he has as much time for us as we need. He is a wonderful Vet, very knowledgeable and reliable. We would highly recommend!

Appalling Practice. Took my 11 year old dog there to be treated a while ago now and while Mr Owen was trying to muzzle him with a bandage, (but not focusing on the dog), I could see my dog starting to panick. He wasn't a biter normally but he was old and in pain, that's why we were there as he was bumping into things, snapping and freezing on the spot. Well my dog shook free and bit the vet. Mr Owen then proceeded to wave his arms in front of my dog's face shouting "rotten animal, get him down, I'm not treating him"! He then "that's a definite case for euthanasia, bring him back if you want it done". Unbelievable!! He even said my dog was using the pain as an excuse to bite people. There were muzzles hanging up in the next room, I could have put one on him first. I was sorry my dog bit him, but his behaviour was unacceptable to an elderly dog. Any animal! Found a great vet in Nottingham who rang the previous vet. She was so good with him and very gentle. We didn't need a muzzle and he even let her take blood without a murmur. He had arthritis and a lesion in his spine, poor lad. But with treatment he lived another 2 years pain free with no further biting incidents. Mr Owen may have been having a bad day, who knows, but that's not an excuse. He said he needed his hands later for his farm visits!!! I always check out a vet first now, how they practice, their reviews before registering my pets. I would never want an animal of mine or me to go through that experience again. Any vet worth their salt would know a dog in pain can lash out and they don't think like people and don't use pain excuses to lash out.
