    The quality of the meat was very poor. My receipt stated 15 kg, but when I checked on my digital scale, it was only about 12 kg. The staff member who cut the meat was extremely rude and unprofessional. Customers should be treated with respect, and accurate measurements must be ensured. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves both service and honesty.

    Ive always been interested in an actual grocers. After moving to Brighton & Hove I managed to stumble upon Taj's. Multitudes of veg cost me only £7, and was all fresh. Much cheaper than my big store shops and was as/more fresh than them. The staff were nice as well, only interaction was at the tills but both staff were very nice. I have seen an assortment of things like olives, baklava, tikas and other items that I am very sure I will come back and try soon!

    Very very dirty! Lowest good hygiene rating of any supermarket in the area. Rats are found in the shop and I bought chicken for my dog and he won’t eat it! They should close this store to protect public health

    I’ve been coming to this Taj for many many years buying lots of exotic fruits and veg. I also use the London Road branch and always find the quality to be top draw. Today I met the owner and have to say what an absolute gent. He went out of his way to ask me if I needed any help getting my shopping in my car (I had a trolley full of onion bags) and also asked if there was enough of what I required. I also watched him interact with several other customers and they all seemed very fond of him. Great business and superb management!

    Lovely shop every area should have. Got everything I would need and more. Some foods that are more difficult to find are found here also. The staff are unfriendly but knowledgeable (perfect combination in my opinion) so will point out what you're looking for easily and efficiently.

    I absolutely love Taj, I've been shopping here for years. Today though, at the London Rd branch, I had to witness the butcher washing for prayer in the hand wash just by the meat. Fully rinsing his nose, feet, ears. Face blowing g out the water from his nose...It's quite off-putting watching this all waiting for him to finish so I could buy chicken. The hand wash basin is really close to the meat. Would it be not be possible to do this in the staff toilet instead? Asked to speak with someone who completely disregarded the conversation.

    This market is not hygiene at all. Plus I bought few things which were out of dates. I bought a bottle of milk which was completely off even though it wasn't out of date. They clearly don't store them at the right temperature.

    Great variety. Many goods that one cannot find elsewhere. Generally clean but a little bit more effort on this front might be useful. Also some members of the staff could be more polite/friendly.
