Very poor experience at this Sainsbury’s. I arrived on 24/12/2026 at 10:00 and dealt with a back door staff member whose attitude was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He did not appear to properly check my seal number, yet spent the interaction complaining and speaking in an unpleasant manner. Later, when I returned to the depot, I was informed that the store reported an issue with the seal number, which directly contradicted my experience at the site. This caused unnecessary stress and put me in a difficult position through no fault of my own. Subcontractors already have very limited protection, and when procedures and CCTV rarely seem to work in their favour, the lack of basic respect and professionalism makes things even worse. While I know there are good people working for Sainsbury’s, this particular experience was unacceptable. Management seriously needs to review how drivers and subcontractors are treated.

Absolutely massive. I could see along one side to a sushi bar or café looking area. Maybe a line of hot counters or something. I couldn't see where the other wall went to, it was like the titanic, but my view was sunk by the iceberg of the three separate and different types of self check out areas.... Too much chrome and orange stickers everywhere man! I grabbed some grapes and escaped back out to the world on Brightons biggest, longest, sloping travellator. I'll try again next week at a less busy time.

This is a pretty decent Sainsburys. It's been jazzed up to a more modern look in the last year or so, but it's still a steadfast part of the Lewes Road area. Walk in or drive in. Parking is almost always available, and there's the Argos inside at the entrance like it's own little shop.

I was asked by a friend to get him a coffee in this Sainsburys. So I went in side and couldnt find the machine inside the store near the entrance. So asked a member of staff I saw working in their and was told that they have got rid of their hot drinks vending machine. Two weeks ago after it had broken down they hadn't replaced it with another. Just a cold drinks section, so had to go to the petrol station across the road its an M&S part of it. To obtain what he was wanting, this was the only reason I had gone into Sainsburys so was slightly disappointed that the machine had gone. I thought I would write this review just in case someone else was wanting a hot drink from their. Now they know that they cannot to save their time. This was on the 30th Nov 2025.

The escalator has been broken for weeks now! Even as an abled bodied person it’s a very steep slope to climb I can’t imagine if you were disabled! Have been offering to help older people get up the slope but it shouldn’t be on other shoppers to facilitate

Happy friendly till lady. A customer who'd gone in front of me was telling everyone what a lovely shopping experience he was having. (Don't hear that often) Good quality flowers & food. Busy but quick service

Staffs are rude and unfriendly. Many times during the queue instead of telling nicely they just rudely and angrily yelling me to come. Today I was about to buy and the staff just didn’t bother which is fine but instead decided to use her hand with a paper and slide it on my face so not ok with this kind of attitude. Also when I asked them about the stock of the products, it always seems like they had no idea at all.

It's tired, bit run down, and definitely not a superstore, but it stocks most of your needs, it also has an Argos collect in store and a pharmacy. It has a lot of parking on 2 levels but slightly awkward entry and exit with a vehicle on the gyratory, one way system. Mind the buses and be very careful of the pedestrians.

A hypermarket with everything under one roof. Situated at the heart of the Lewes Road, Brighton in a Victorian type structure with ample space underground for car park. Reasonable prices and all household items under one roof makes it even easier. You have a wheel chair accessible entrance too.

Yum food. Nice toilet. Issues with meals deals. Overall 4.235/5 would return but not rush back that’s for sure. Thank you for reading
