Lovely hotel, newly refurbished as it seems! clean and a brilliant location. Nice touch with the fresh orange juice and porridge that was provided for free :) On the down side of things, there were a dip in the mattress nearest to the door. Laying on your back wasn't too bad but when lying on your side, (like I do) my back dipped and made my nights stay very uncomfortable over a period of time. Maybe due to my small frame. I didn't get to sleep until 6ish in the morning. I was invited to play in the darts tournament at the poachers inn the next day, but due to the the mattress with great regret I couldn't stay again. I wanted to call reception just to ask for another duvet to go on top of the mattress but was closed. Room #5. I would suggest turning the mattress around. That aside, thanks for a lovely stay.

Thai has to be the best Christmas dinner I’ve had at a restaurant. The turkey main course (with blue cheese filling) was a standout. Starters were great as was dessert. Really impressed with the food. Good atmosphere and friendly staff too.

We were passing through yesterday so decided to try as heard a lot about this place from acquaintances. Duck for my partner and roast pork with puy lentils. The duck was over cooked or not rested enough. Was really tough. Nice flavours. The roast pork was nice and with lentils made it comfort food. However, considering the prices and reviews. We were left very underwhelmed. Don’t live in the area and we both agreed didn’t need to visit here again. Service was polite. Parking nearby in public car park.

Popped in for a quick lunch today and was very pleasantly surprised to find this gem hidden in plain sight. Extensive wine list, great cocktails, fresh & tasty food, and attentive service. I look forward to going back to try more!

We shared a meal last evening before going to the Hurst festival comedy night, staff ensured we were fed and watered all in good time. Food was fantastic and service brilliant as always. A real treat.

We came in at lunchtime: the staff were very pleasant, we had good coffee and were happy that they were dog-friendly at the front. A great atmosphere and we look forward to returning to try the food which looked delicious!

Stayed here 1 night with a reservation for dinner. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. On the small side in one room but functional. The restaurant is where Morleys really came into its own. Fantastic food with a nice atmosphere. The service was friendly and in all a very pleasant place. If I am ever in the area again this will be at least my dinner reservation.
