I was satisfied with the food, but the service from one male waiter completely ruined the experience. He is a bit chubby and was extremely rude to us. He treated other tables with smiles and patience, but acted harshly and dismissively toward us. He put dishes down carelessly, spoke in an unfriendly tone, and made us feel like everything we did was a problem. The difference in his attitude was so obvious that it was uncomfortable and unacceptable. The only positive part of the service came from the female waiter, who was kind, professional and respectful. If it were not for her, we would have left immediately. The management needs to address this issue seriously. No customer should be treated like this.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant yesterday. There was a male staff member whose attitude towards our table was extremely poor. Throughout the entire service, he spoke to us in a very harsh and impatient tone, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. What made it worse was the clear difference in how he treated other tables. He was noticeably more polite and friendly to other customers, which made the contrast even more obvious. I used to have a good impression of this place, but this experience was really upsetting. I hope the management takes this issue seriously, as service like this makes it hard for customers to want to return.

We went at the last minute as we were in Southampton for the weekend and didn't know where to go. It was late, but the staff were friendly and accommodated us. The food was very good. The portions were a good size. We ordered 5 tapas, which was more than enough for 2. The price is very reasonable.

We have been coming to La Regata for several years and this place never lets us know. The combination of fantastic, authentic cuisine, atmosphere, and the team makes Le Regata a very special place for us. You feel like you have been transported to Spain and the don't want to leave. We will be returning again very soon for a family birthday, and for many years to come. Thank you to the whole team for bringing this special place to Southampton.

I had my birthday lunch at La Regata, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with beautiful Spanish décor that made the meal feel extra special. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely celebrated on my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The tapas selection was especially impressive, with a great variety to suit all tastes. La Regata exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommended!

Impeccable food, service and experience. The staff gave good advice on wine ordering and offered free taste. We will definitely visit again and again!

Overrated food and very overpriced for such tiny portion, cold and basically rude service too. There's definitely better Spanish tapas in the UK than this, one is near enough in Bournemouth, for the same price but the portion at least is normal and taste heaps better! So I know this is not the standard for tapas in the UK, this is purely just overpriced for food doesn't even taste good or authentic. If food is good and worth it then I don't really care about how the staff are like, but in this case when food is bland, but the service from the staff is even worse like they are mad at us or something.. Never coming back again.

We’ve been to this restaurant twice now and love it. Situated on the waterfront, opposite the Town Quay in a lovely old building. It seems very popular and has been full on both occasions we have visited. Booking is advisable. The interior is tastefully decorated with lots of period features. There is an upstairs balcony section but sitting downstairs you have double height to the ceiling. Good tapas menu but we chose Paella for two. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and a couple of San Miguels washed it down nicely. Will definitely go again.

We booked in advance as we have got a big group. The location is easy to find with a pay car park nearby. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and food were delicious beside the lamb dish which tasted like mushy lamb meat. Good selection of tapas. Overall it was a good experience.
