I donβt often leave reviews, but my experience in store today with the manager was absolutely dreadful. I went to exchange something Iβd purchased 2 hours earlier as it was faulty when I tried it at home. The manager said Iβd need to contact the manufacturer, refused to help and told me to come back when it was less busy as theyβd need to prove it was faulty. Apparently itβs Argosβ policy not to accept returns on faulty items. Iβd purchased at 11.10amβ¦.and went back at 1pm. I asked for his name, he refused to provide it and walked off. Another colleague also refused to give me his name. However another Argos store has confirmed his name as Gurvinder- a trainee manager. This has also been escalated to head office for investigation.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience today was so upsetting that I feel obligated to warn others. My interaction with a staff member named Betty was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. From the moment she addressed me, her attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Instead of being helpful or polite, she spoke to me in a condescending tone, showed clear impatience, and made me feel as though I was an inconvenience simply for needing assistance. I remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction, yet her behaviour did not improve at all. What made the experience even more frustrating is that I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I only needed basic help with my order, which is literally part of customer service. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, Betty seemed uninterested, unbothered, and carried herself as though she did not care about the customer at all. At one point, she rolled her eyes and spoke over me, which was incredibly disrespectful and unnecessary. Whatβs even more concerning is that I am not the only person who has had this experience with her. Multiple customers have shared similar complaints which I can see through the reviews about Bettyβs rude attitude and poor treatment of customers. This clearly shows that this is not a one-off bad day, but an ongoing issue that management seriously needs to address. Argos is a well-known and trusted store, and experiences like this damage its reputation. Customers should not feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, or disrespected when they walk into a shop to spend their money. Staff represent the company, and behaviour like this reflects extremely poorly on the business as a whole. I truly hope that this review is taken seriously and that proper customer service training or disciplinary action is put in place. No customer deserves to be treated the way I was today. Unless something changes, I would strongly warn others to be cautious when dealing with this particular staff member.

Appalling service from βBettyβ dark-skin chubby older female working at online order section . 0 customer service skills. Nobody is forcing you to work ,retail is not for you. It had a disgusting behaviour I had to try very hard to respond in a civilised manner back, really not sure how it got a job and who would hire that. She should really be more careful with the way she talks considering her name is on display for us and so is her workplace.

I really like this shop because there is plenty of space to hang around in while you are waiting for your order. Orders also do not take ages and ages either.

That lady that worked in online collection was so rude and super not helpful as I have been trying to find is the product I bought was new or been used as the box was damaged and tapped back. I wonβt comeback to this store again as I donβt have any great experiences from it.(even just for the collection).

Called today 18:10 in regards to purchasing a spare wheel for my bike I purchased from this store which Argos customer service told me to call the store to enquire about the spare wheel as I got knock off my bike by a hit and run. Last week and it's badly buckled. She was rude and about as helpful as a chocolate tea pot! This was when I was speaking to the Forbury store. I don't know how you can deal with poor service but all I can say it was a female at 18:10 bike part number 618/0254 always nice to speak to people without attitude in there voice.

Horrible experience from a female manager there. Had an order with missing items which was very inconvenient and stressful as it related to a cross-country move, but discussed it with someone online who assured me a note was made on my order and I could pick up the item the next day. It was a moving pack with tape missing meaning the boxes were impossible to use. When I arrived I was accused of lying about the order - like I wanted to scam a minor item from Argos? I was mildly taken aback and held my ground and insisted my order was checked online. The female manager was very irate at this. It was actually a massive inconvenience for me to have to trek back down to the store for an order YOU got wrong. Iβd been pleasant and polite up to that point - despite being a working professional trying to collect a missing item and called a tape thief. It would be pure comedy if it werenβt so irritating. The cherry on the cake was this manager ripping open a two-pack of tape in front of me after being forced to realise her error and informing me I was allowed βjust one.β Okay? Just one then. No apology for the inconvenience. Argos is fine but AVOID THIS STORE. Never encountered anything like this in my life.

"computer says no" I tried to return a dehumidifier as after turning it on at home I realised it wasn't going to be powerful enough. The manager (Shuhad) refused the return as it was now considered used and therefore didn't comply with the 30 day return policy. Yes, strictly true, but come on. Used for 10 mins and returned with all the original packaging the only sign of use a tiny bit of condensation in the water tank (which I dried out using a tissue after it was pointed out) Although perfectly polite I'd have to say Shuhad needs to work on his common sense. (His colleagues suggestion of selling it online to get my money back was a real kick in the balls) I won't be back. Thanks!

I tried to buy a Ps5 with Argos and my experience has been horrible! I first made a purchase online using a gift card payment plus credit card for the remaining amount and the payment went through but the order got lost in the system. I called the customer service asking to check and they ensured me that a refund will take place a certain point. Then I decided to place another order that went through and finally I got confirmation of it. After few minutes the order gets cancelled but the payment taken again. I called the customer service two times more and both times I couldn't solve my the issue, I got just a confusing explanation of technical issues and no solutions given. Right now I have 900 pounds payments pending on my credit card and I spent the all morning calling them asking for help! Their solution is to wait until I get back the money (maximum 72 hours) and try to buy the item when available. What an unpleasant experience!! Hope it will get solved at certain point
