We attended your Christmas event recently and were really disappointed with the overall experience. The food and wine were below the standard we expected, and our group was seated in what felt like a conservatory, separate from the main party atmosphere. We also stayed overnight and found the rooms in need of updating and much better soundproofing. Overall, it wasn’t the experience we were hoping for.

4 weeks continuous stay during a nearby works course. The hotel is well located near to Fleet however benefits from its quiet location. The rooms are quite dated and are suffering from Miriam of small defects however, my overall stay was comfortable. The bed were comfy and the rooms warm however, the walls are quite thin and other guest s noise was noticeable. The staff were excellent throughout! Nothing was too much trouble and they were polite throughout. Special shout out to Sheila at breakfast. She went above and beyond during my stay and it was clear that she takes absolute pride in her job with the guests wellbeing at the forefront of her mind. Overall a pleasant stay with strong consideration to check here for availability first when I’m next in the area.

A really lovely wedding venue and by all accounts, good value. Excellent service, very good food and friendly approachable staff. Yes, some of the hotel decor is dated. However, we really enjoyed our stay. No issues whatsoever.

This hotel is a gem. Charming, old fashioned in the best sense of the word. Feels family run. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the bar Caesar Salad i had late at night after arriving was the best Caesar Salad i have ever eaten - and i have eaten a few! Very generous portion and way over the top with fresh ingredients. Delicious! The room was excellent, bed comfortable, quiet and with windows you can actually open! As was the breakfast - a widely varied menu, something for everyone and all charmingly and efficiently served. If you have to have a hotel in Fleet, then you couldn't do better than this one!

Stayed at the hotel for a night with friends. Unfortunately their was a function on so we were unable to eat at the restaurant in the evening, but we had an excellent lunch! Rooms were very adequate and comfortable. Special shout to Alison who was great and made the stay more enjoyable!

We visited for the New Year's Eve function. Overall I can't recommend this hotel. On arrival we were told there was no room booking in our name, despite advising they had confirmed the booking to us. Eventually the error on their part was blamed on a staff member 'who had left'. As the hotel was not full we were able to get a room. The evening function was reasonable, though not that special. Marking this as poor is very much in recognition of the fiasco that was breakfast! The buffet was empty with guests waiting for it to be restocked. All the while more guests waited. By now no juice, no glasses. Again a queue of waiting guests. Each time things were replenished it was soon empty. No tea or coffee at the tables. When the coffee arrived, no milk. Complaints that the milk eventually given was off. Insufficient cutlery on tables, the list goes on. Was jus waiting for John Cleese to arrive! Overall a shocking breakfast experience. Room OK but a musty, smokey smell on stairs, carpets. A tired hotel.

Beautiful old hotel and great service from staff. The rooms are very cold in winter though, even with hearing on full, I was cold all night. If you get assigned to Room 17 then ask to be moved as it's adjacent to the kitchen and VERY noisy.

We visited for afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon. We were sat at an uneven table of which I had to sort out myself. (not a slight wobble, but more so a kids slide) We did ask for it to be rectified of which they managed to get someone from maintenance that then adjusted the 3 inches of napkin that I had placed there 20 mins previous. The waitress then managed to deliver the desserts, then sandwiches but no tea until we asked. 3 of us asked for coffee but were not offered a refill. However one of the cups had coffee stains and lipstick on it, of which we then had to ask for a replacement. After at least 10 minutes of waiting, we had to get up and go to the bar and get a replacement cup. No apology at all. We were there for over 2 hours and not once were we asked if we were ok or needed anything else. They were not busy. There were three members of staff chatting at reception for most of our visit. We asked if we could pay and they said yes but did not tell us that we had to go to the bar to do this, so we waited and waited. The sandwiches still had the crust on the outsides which is not a typical feature of afternoon tea. Sandwiches for 26 quid should not have their crusts on FFS. I'm sure there will be other things I remember but this will do. So, if you want to take people you really want to get revenge on, for example a dysfunctional relative or friend, then go forth and get booking. If not, avoid.

Excellent hotel in a nice setting with helpful, professional staff. Booked last minute after travelling down for a weekend at Goodwood Revival for just one night, after moving on from an awful hotel at Winchester from the Friday. Astounded by how pleasant this place is for the price. Clean, comfortable well appointed rooms, exceptional staff, good food, excellent bar and a nice setting in a handy location. I wish we had found this hotel in the first place, would have paid double to the Lismoyne, to not stay in the first hotel for the first night and spend the whole weekend here. I would actually consider booking this hotel again just for weekend away. No complaints at all, can’t fault the place. Especially for the price.
