Big sports direct in Boscombe, usually well stocked. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Was on holiday for a weekend and forgot my jacket so as this store was close to where I was staying I popped in with the idea of getting a reasonably priced jumper/jacket, ended up deciding on a 39.99 Adidas jumper type thing, store was pretty empty, walked up and tapped my card, reader said approved and went through etc but reciept didn't print and system ""glitched"", I was then spoken to like a child and told not to leave which I wasn't planning on, after 5 minutes of standing around they decided to call IT to which they told me to pay again which I did, same thing reader said approved, message from my bank and what not, after about 30 secs the ancient reciept machine sprung into life and they said all was well, before I left the store I checked my bank and sure enough I had 2x transaction pending, I told what I can assume to be the manager that I have infact paid twice and showed statements and confirmation and was just told in the most patronising way possible 'oh its just in your pending you haven't paid the first time' and to come back after 48 hours If still concerned, I said I was not from the area and that would be an issue and the chap could not care less. Genuinely frustrated at this point I decided to just leave rather than cause a fuss. 24 hours later and sure enough 79.98 was taken from my account, I have tried calling this store 20 times now over different days and have not gotten through, I have messaged sports direct and received a response apologising for the treatment etc but saying I would have to contact the store (no response) or go back to the individual store which Is a 4h drive away... Having contacted my bank they confirmed payment was sent both times and they couldn't do anything as hadn't bounced back. Customer service is absolutely appalling and entire experience has been absolutely ridiculous!

I'm really disappointed. We clearly stated that we need a puncture repair kit for an air mattress. We got sold the more expensive kit with tyre lifters, even though the normal kit would have been sufficient. I will not come back.

The manager at this branch is a discriminatory and aggressive person. My mother entered Sports Direct to buy a pair of socks today, one for her, and one for her husband. She picked up one pair of men's socks, and one pair of women's socks. She took these to the counter, but the sales assistant scanned the men's socks twice rather than each individually, and as a result the receipt said men's socks x2. As my mother was leaving, she spotted a pair of junior socks that would fit her better, and took them back to the counter to exchange the women's socks for the juniors. At this point, the error on the receipt was pointed out, but as if it was my mother's fault. The manager accused my mother of swapping the socks at the door, and after she grew frustrated and emptied out her bag to show that she had not done so, he accused her of assaulting his staff and told her she was banned from the shop. This is, of course, silly in itself, but the real issue is that whilst escorting my mother out of the store, he was very close to her and trying to pressure her to leave quickly. My mother is severely disabled and cannot walk very fast, nor without great pain. She mentioned this to him and asked him to not pressure her, to which he replied "I don't care". I entered the shop to exchange the socks for her (which, for some reason, was a very simple and easy process!) and I attempted to speak to the manager and ask that he show more patience towards disabled customers. He was aggressive and hostile to me from the get-go, interrupting me and refusing to listen to me. Although I was speaking calmly and politely, he also accused me of arguing with him and repeatedly scoffed at me. He then repeated to me, "I don't care if she pulls 'the disabled card'." It is my opinion that the manager of this store is an aggressive and discriminatory man with no respect for his customer base, especially those who need more patience. His actions were extremely disappointing, and I truly hope Sports Direct takes action over this. This behaviour is unacceptable. My mother was very distressed by the treatment she received here. Do not shop here if you care about the disabled people in your life: the manager does not care. Edit: Judging by other reviews here, this is not a one-off case. Upper management must take action.

I am a regular customer of the Sports Direct.I am disappointed that you have closed down one of your stores in Castlepoint. Furthermore,I have had my worst experience in your store in Boscomb because the security guard forced me to leave the building for no apparent reason. He was laughing and not telling me why he was forcing me out the building. Also, an elderly lady came over to ask him a question and he also did not answer it.Unhappily, She left the building.

For what it is, it has the best staff in all their other Bournemouth branches! Friendly, welcoming and helpful and if you mess them about, know how to handle conflicts. Really missed them when they were shut due to Covid. Have limited stock due to size of the store and if they don't have it in stock, can usually find it from their bigger branch in the town centre. Buy a whole lot of football/rugby paraphernalia from here and always go out of their way to help. Manageress is great, has the peoples touch and is very relatable. It's in the Sovereign Centre so there is wheelchair accessible parking as well as entrence/exit to the store. There are toilets in the centre and the store has a family friendly vibe to it. It is centrally located in Boscombe and about 10mins walk to the beach. Great place to shop!

The member of staff that served me was very helpful, got the impression that she was very patient, had a good sense of humour. Good value & some great reductions, nice variety of labels/styles. Definitely will shop there again.
