βI immediately felt at ease when I went into AKR. A well-equipped gym, with supportive coaches and friendly members and staff. It's definitely the right fit for me. The PT sessions are invaluable and it's great that all exercises are tailored to individual need with gentle coaxing to do that wee bit more than you think you canβ
βI joined David Lloyd due to the pool facilities. It is always clean, and relaxing no matter if busy or quiet. The new gym layout / equipment is great. Liv was a star when I first joined the gym - she is so knowledgable. There has been issues when using guest passes for signing in, but nothing is a bother to the team - theyβre always so friendly. Looking forward to the new courts opening!β
βFantastic venue that has recently been upgraded. Beautiful setting in the middle of Westburn Park, indoor and outdoor courts as well as padel, with friendly and knowledgeable staff.β
βFantastic club, my son joined just just before Christmas 2023, quiet and shy, wouldn't speak to many people, 6 months on he has made a group of Fantastic friends, speaks to anyone, engages with others, all the coaches have built his confidence beyond words, which i am extremely grateful for. He absolutely loves the gym.β
βIv visited many Village gyms and have to say this particular gym stands out from the rest. Firstly the staff βNatalieβ in particular are soo helpful and friendly and the equipment and cleanliness in the gym, changing rooms and pool are unquestionably spotless. Cant wait to return.β
βFantastic gym. The friendliest team of staff especially Scott the owner. So supportive of members and encouraging of young bodybuilders. Small gym, but some serious kit for serious gym goers.β
βChanged over to Bannatyne in April and have managed to hit a significant number of my personal fitness goals. Truly an incredible environment to improve your health. Big fan of being able to track exercise without having to carry a mobile in my pocket whilst jogging, cycling etc and the machines are connected well enough to provide that service. Plenty of ventilation and much more so than other health clubs in the area. Have yet to try the spa services however they offer consistent and fresh updates on new services weekly and monthly with opt-in emails / texts. With these updates are constant discounts which is great to see. Staff are always super friendly and full of helpful advice. The range of different workout environments has been great too.β

βWhat a gym! Been going to warehouse for over 2 years and you will struggle to find a gym with better members and equipment! Everyone is there to support you. There is zero judgment and you feel welcome and comfortable at any level of ability or strength. All the "intimidating" bodybuilders are amongst the nicest ones in the club and are all willing to help with a spot or answer any questions. All-in-all an excellent gym with insane equipment and great / friendly staff!β
βNice place for a party. During the week also lots of activities availableβ
βAfter a decade-long hiatus from martial arts, I decided to return to training with John, building upon my previous experiences in traditional martial arts during my teens and a few months of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in my early twenties. My earlier BJJ training was a mixed experience; I often felt overwhelmed by larger opponents and struggled to grasp effective strategies, leading me to step away from martial arts altogether. However, my interest in the sport rekindled after the birth of my first child, motivating me to seek out practical self-defense skills. Training with John has been a revelation. His approach is both structured and adaptable, allowing me to train and spar confidently with a diverse range of partners. Importantly, his emphasis on safety has ensured that I have neither sustained nor inflicted any injuries. The sessions are engaging and thought-provoking, leaving me eager to continue learning and refining my skills. John's expertise has deepened my appreciation for MMA, transforming a casual interest into a dedicated pursuit. I can confidently say that this is the safest and most effective environment for learning practical self-defense in the city. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this class offers valuable training that will enhance your abilities and confidence.β
