“Gave birth 6 months ago and never got round to writing a review until now. I can’t fault my experience at Mendip/Southmead. I had 2 midwives (1 being a student) and they were exceptional, always by my side. I went in at around 9 and they stayed with me until their shift ended at 7am. Took no breaks. They realised babies heart rate was dropping so intervened very quickly and took me to CDS. Afterwards we had a lovely room where my partner was able to stay and rest with me after birth. We were then left on our own to take everything in but had a call button if we needed anything. They were very quick at responding. Security is also great at mendip as you have to be signed out by the midwife (to ensure the baby is yours) Thank you all at Mendip x”

“First-time parents with complicated birth. The midwives could not have been more outstanding. A lot of the staff have recently qualified yet (except for asking) you'd never know. The teaching here must be amazing. Yes, there can be a lot of waiting until you are seen, but do you really want to spend your taxes on always having staff sitting idle in case you arrive? Best medical treatment ever. Let's keep the NHS well supported.”

“As a parent of three children who have attended the school and one who still attends (nearly 15 years of driving too and from there), I have nothing but praise for it. It is a small school, but they fill all the spaces with fun things for the children. The staff are both approachable and friendly, who are always available for discussions and offer help when needed, even when personal issues arise, they really do go out of their way to support both the children and parents. During lockdown they have been amazing!!! They had structured days ready for the children so they had some sort of routine during these confusing times, which I know some other schools in Bristol didn't have. The education they have received has been great, I have two children who have dyslexia and they pulled all the stops out to help them in every way they could, when my children left primary to go to secondary school not only was the handover from the two schools great, but my children left feeling confident and they had a strong understanding of what was needed to help them so they could ask when they started 'big' school. I leave my child at the school gates every morning happy and I know that they are in a safe, kind, fun and caring place, which is all I've ever asked for as a parent.”

They're always smiling and laughing. I don't know why it's rated so low because it has lovely facilities and a homey feel.”
