Playtime and socialization in Cardiff

“We cannot praise Ross, Laura and the team at Keepers Cottage enough for their care of our collie over the past week. Our much loved boy was shockingly mistreated at our previous kennels, despite boarding there without any cause for concern for over 8 years. Following this incident, we paid a visit to a few alternative boarding facilities ahead of our vacation this year and started to doubt whether we would be able to trust another kennel to care for our pet the way in which we would. We'd read that Keepers Cottage had been taken over by new management in the past few years and despite our initial reluctance (having only ever heard negative reviews of the business as it was previously run) we reached out to arrange a visit and was pleasantly surprised by the response we received, suggesting we call by at any time during opening hours (something that's normally frowned upon or restricted by other kennels). As soon as we met Laura and Ross our minds were instantly put at ease - what a genuinely lovely pair of people! Both were so welcoming and completely open and upfront about the extensive work that they'd already undertaken to get the kennels in the condition that they are today, and the plans they have to make even more improvements over the next few years. Ross' knowledge and love of animals is evident from the questions he asked about our dog, his health and our past experiences and it was immediately apparent that for these guys, this business isn't just a means of income, but a shared and genuine passion shared by the whole family - they really do care about what they do. Due to the past trauma experienced by our collie, Ross recommended that we leave him there for a day to see how he settled before any long term boarding - a perfect suggestion that not only helped him to settle in, but to completely set aside any fears we may have had about leaving him in kennels. I picked him up after a weeks stay earlier today and we were in complete shock over how happy and content he was; he even ran past me, straight to Laura as soon as he came out of his run - if that doesn't speak volumes for how well he enjoyed his stay then I don't know what does! It was clear that he's been well looked after; his bedding wasn't dirty as it normally it, he didn't smell like he's done in the past and he didn't pull and whine to go home like normal. It's evident that he's been well looked after and I cannot thank Laura, Ross, their girls and the team enough - after his stay with you, I wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of our pets. We look forward to many happy stays with you in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend you guys to anyone!”

“Exceptional Dog Walking Service! I've been using PontK9 for Caffrey's thrice-weekly hour-long pack walks, and I'm beyond impressed! Rob, our walker, isn't just doing a job; he genuinely adores Caffrey as much as we do. He takes incredible photos of Caffrey during the walks, which are always a joy to see. More importantly, he's been fantastic in building Caffrey’s confidence and discipline, especially with on-lead behavior and return commands. Rob's dedication and skills have made a noticeable difference, and I can’t recommend PontK9 enough. If you're looking for someone who will care for your dog as their own, look no further.”

“Had a great party here for my daughters 5th birthday party was a bit of confusion with my booking but all was fine and I was given 2 free passes for another visit which is great as we go often and to the one in Caerphilly , we loved the big party room upstairs it was the perfect size as it was full up there with all the kids and family so definitely recommend the bigger room. “Amanda has looked after Autumn for us on a couple of occasions and I know that she is having the best time and lots of fun with their dog and also the dogs which Amanda walks regularly. I receive lots of videos and photos and reports of how she is doing and I can totally relax being away knowing Autumn is having the best time! When she comes back home, she is shattered and I think she is probably really missing Coco and the fun of their home’. Highly recommend!”

“Both my daughters have had a wonderful time at Fun Foundations, and from my own (and their) experience I see no reason to recognise the negative comments from other reviewers. Amy is great, the staff are helpful, and the wrap-around care going through to Y-Bont-Faen primary works well. The site in North Road is one of a very few places in Cowbridge where you could consider a viable Nursery, as it offers half-decent parking. In addition, the food is good, the hygiene standards excellent, and the toys are frankly no more scuzzy than any nursery I've ever seen. If it's friends and fond memories you want your children to have, I am glad mine went there.”

“Absolutely love little oaks. I take my 2 year old once a week and she’s just as excited as she was the first time we went there. I find it a much better experience than the local softplays as the imaginative play is endless, there’s loads to do and it’s a great way for her to learn how to interact with other toddlers and practice sharing and role play. The cafe is nice and reasonably priced, decent coffee which is always a plus. It’s clean and safe, and the staff are all lovely. I recommend it to anyone with little ones who want something a bit more interesting (and cleaner) than softplay.”

“My daughter had her 5th birthday party at Jump n Jackz. The staff have always been very helpful and quick to respond to my messages. I had to rearrange the party as my daughter was poorly and they were able to offer a new date at no extra charge. The party itself was well organised, all I had to do was bring a cake! Brooke was very attentive and great with the kids. The play equipment was very clean, so much so they flew down the slides! Thanks for a lovely morning!”

“Anna is so loving and considerate towards our pet pooch! We were worried about having a dog walker, as we've never had one before, and our dog, Coby, is a staffy who can be very worried/sometimes lash out with other dogs. Anna took it all in her stride though, asked plenty of questions to provide a tailored, individualised service and has been both professional, warm and approachable. Coby is more than happy to see her in the day and everything is left where it should be as though she were never there. Absolutely excellent!”
