“The best chips I’ve ever had. Visited as a group for a midweek catchup after receiving many recommendations. The waitress was so lovely and attentive, and immediately made us feel so at home. Really enjoyed the halloumi burger, and the chipotle sauce on the side was perfect so I could tailor the burger to my spice level. Generous portions at a really reasonable price. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meal in such a warm welcoming environment. 100% recommend, will be returning soon”

“If you like a nice cosy country pub away from loud and rowdy crowds this is your place! The staff are amazing and helpful, very busy tending to tables and always smiling! The food was amazing and at a quality I would put at a level alongside several high end restaurants we have visited and at a very reasonable price. I had the spicy belly pork bites for a starter which I would recommend, for mains I had the cod and chips with mushy peas which was cooked perfectly. We eat out regularly when we are out and about and would safely say this is the best pub serving food we have visited within a 50 mile radius of Liverpool! 10/10........ only the 1 picture of food unfortunately as was too busy eating it!”

“This pub was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The landlord / landlady whoever but I'm not 100% who was the owner. Laid on a massive spread for the golf society lads. Could not of asked for a nicer pub. My 1st time ever in the Owls Nest and it won't be my last. Highly recommend this pub to anyone. 6 stars I'd give this pub. Magners £3 a bottle so I was happy. Thank you”

“We’ve just had an afternoon meal here, our first time eating here. A bit of a wait from ordering to food on the table (but it does state in busy times 45 mins is normal) but what we ordered was well worth the wait. Every meal was piping hot & freshly cooked. I had steak & ale pie with mash seasonal veg & a gravy boat it was delicious, the wife had a tower burger and it was a tower it was served with skin on fries. Our son had Fajitas with a side order of salt n pepper chips - I pinched a couple of the chips they were delicious. All portions were more than adequate and food hot which is a massive plus in my eyes. My wife & son had a sweet both said it was delicious a chocolate brownie, hot fudge with ice cream were their choices. The staff were very nice especially birthday girl who was a great hostess. A pleasant afternoon we will definitely visit again.”

“Visited for a family event. We were in the upstairs event room. The outdoor terrace had stunning views over the golf course and beyond - so lucky to have such a sunny day, we could see Wales. The bar was well stocked with a great selection of beers and wines at very reasonable prices. Staff were very accommodating and happy to help.”

Even with a last-minute booking due to issues at another restaurant, the staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The scent of BBQ and charcoal filled the air as we entered, which instantly got my taste buds excited. Sitting us down close to the window enhanced our experience. My wife enjoyed a refreshing glass of pink gin and lemonade while I indulged in a pint of the Efes. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time, providing helpful recommendations from the menu. Before our main dishes arrived, the staff surprised us with freshly baked bread and dips, which was a delightful touch. The Chefs platter was suggested, and it was a delicious and plentiful mix of BBQ'd meat that left me feeling completely satisfied. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable and friendly evening. “We came yesterday for Fathers Day and it was very busy which is what you would expect. Its a great little place and well organised. The food was excellent and the service was very good considering how busy it was. We would definitely recommend it and we will be returning back when its nice to sit outside on a normal day. “Traveled with family for a short visit (4 days) to St Helens and the surrounding area. Had a wonderful stay. Was greeted by friendly staff (Paige and Jacob) who were very helpful and informative as I had a lot of questions. I unfortunately fell sick, however the staff at the inn were friendly and accommodating. Went the extra mile to help me into town to get to the pharmacy (thank you Jacob). We had a total of 5 meals here (as I couldn't be asked to take a trip out) and they were all delicious. We were lucky enough to be here during a menu change so we had a lot of variety. Would recommend.”

“Went for tea with the Husband my dad and mother in law on Saturday night. As soon as we went in we where greeted and then shown to our table the staff gave us a menu to look over and came back shortly after for our drinks order, the staff where very polite and content. The waitress came back for our food order and shortly afterward our food was served piping hot and delicious. We had main course and dessert they where both spot on, our server / waitress was Gemma and she couldn’t do enough for us , I’m fussy and pre fare a jacket over chips she said she would sort it. And she did . Thank you to Gemma and the rest of the staff for such a pleasant time , I am sure we will be back.”
