“We came here on a Saturday evening with an offer. The service and ambience was great. We got the grilled platter which was fantastic- the chicken and lamb stood out to us the most. We also got the aloo chaat which was lovely. For mains we got the chicken biryani which had large pieces of chicken within it. We also got the railway lamb curry which was seasoned fantastically. Poppadums and chutney also great. Overall a great experience and the mocktails are great. Our total bill was £50 which is reasonable”

“Me and my family, a group of 11 people attended O Calhau yesterday for Fado night. It was amazing, my partner lives close by and it was always somewhere we wanted to visit. Food was amazing, the chef was amazing too, she was so welcoming. Being from Madeira ourselves, it felt like being home again. My family travelled far and really enjoyed it too! “Very nice cozy pub within walking distance from the south side of the airport. Charming atmosphere, good food, and typical pub service. Odd enough it is fairly quiet inside as there is a fair amount of plane traffic above, so the outside is what it is. Highly recommend this landmark for someone wanting a proper pint.”

“Popped in here for some lunch. They aren't doing food yet but are in the process of upgrading the pub and updating the kitchen for food. The staff there were so friendly, the guiness is superb and the pool tables are fab. So if you want a pint and a game of pool, I'm not sure you'd find a friendlier pub to do that in. Yes it's old fashioned but old fashioned in a good way. A pub like pubs used to be!”
