“We had planned to visit this pub for ages after a recommendation so we booked a slot for today 1.30. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff who we worked out to be in charge confident polite informative, we were sat down and our waitress was introduced to us another polite and pleasant member of staff as were all the staff. To shorten the story the food was great the staff were excellent the atmosphere was very pleasant so would we go again definitely, would we recommend it without hesitation, was it value for money we think so. “I didnt eat here so cannot comment. Entry is from a side door, which is a bit sketchy. Ive been here twice now and been served by three different servers and all of them have been friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Real ale from the mighty Oak Maldon on tap was good and well looked after.”

“I visited this lovely café in early July 2025 while spending the weekend with my best friend from the USA, who was staying in an Airbnb nearby. We found this place online, and it truly did not disappoint! From the first bite of the fluffy pancakes to the perfectly cooked full English breakfast, everything was absolutely delicious. The hot chocolate, was easily the tastiest I’ve ever had — rich, smooth, and comforting. The staff were respectful, and genuinely welcoming, they made us feel right at home. Their service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive and you could tell they truly care about their customers. It was a quiet Sunday morning, so we even had the chance to enjoy a lovely chat with them. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, amazing people, and a wonderful start to the day.”
