“This is my go to place for authentic African food, you can tell it was made with love! The owner is EXTREMELY KIND! and welcoming which made the whole experience truly special, showing genuine care for my satisfaction. Her attentiveness created a personal touch that made my meal even more enjoyable. It’s clear she takes great pride in her restaurant and providing excellent customer service. The suya was incredibly flavourful, with a perfect balance of spices, I also loved the jollof with plantain and spicy turkey bites. Despite being a takeout order, the food was well-packaged and arrived hot. when I placed my order the staff were efficient. Overall, a fantastic experience and I highly recommend their delicious food!”

“Came in with my boyfriend ordered 2 patties for a quick munch. I am usually intimidated by Caribbean restaurants as customer service isn’t always great. But the lady and the man in the shop running the place were so welcoming and polite and lovely and made us feel comfortable. The patties were gorgeous and hot and decently priced. Will only come here from now and can’t wait to try other food. Thank you ! X”

“We had takeaway and was really impressed. Portion sizes generous, food came hot and tasted great. Felt like eating home cooking in Jamaica (which I’ve had a fair bit of!) and authentic rather than alot of places that are bland; the jerk had a kick, perfect! “Sunday lunch, it was great. We had the combination plate (meat and veggie) for three people. There was a lot of food and it was all very good. We almost ate it all. The coffee is also really good. Definitely recommend it and would definitely go back again!”

“Every time I got to Wembley Boxpark I always think I’m going to try somewhere new but I always end up at Mama Jacq’s! Love the food here, generous portion size as well as the food being consistently tasty. I always get the boneless chicken curry with rice and peas plus mac and cheese- without a doubt always delicious every time. It’s pretty inevitable that next time I’m in Boxpark I’ll end up here and order exactly the same thing!”

“Really good food and perhaps the best jerk chicken I had in my life. The prices are quite reasonable and can be seen online. The only downside is their service is really really slow and it took us 45 mins to be served out food and it was missing the sauces and sides when it was served to us. Still a five star since the food was so good and the decoration was really well thought out.”

“Had a wonderful time at YahSo!! We booked a table. The food was on point, we had Ackee cigar (spring roll make with delicious ackee) & a callaloo (superior spinach) version. The spicing was excellent! For mains we had fish dishes… soooo good! Great portion sizes & sides of fried plantains, sweet potato fries & ripe avocado. Hmmmm, so tasty!! The birthday celebration that came with the dessert topped off the great caribbean decor & vibes… made the evening. Nice music. Highly recommended”

“Tried the food from the pop-up stall a few months ago and the food was amazing (and a good price too!) and the owner was super nice! Came across this today on Uber Eats so had my first delivery from here. Once again everything was delicious! I am so glad you do delivery now- we will be ordering again soon!! We ordered: Jerk chicken, Curry goat, Peppered Steak, Mac and cheese, beef patty and dumplings. I recommend it all!! Reasonably priced and soooo delicious!”

“Loveeeeeeeeeeeee the food and staff here. Always happy always smiling. Never ever had an issue with my food and I’ve been buying from them for over 5 years. Jerk pork, fried fish or Roti and curry. I could never choose a favourite , food is always good and FRESH unlike some Caribbean restaurants that are local *cough cough*.”

“Wow!! My second time here and I absolutely love the food and the lovely staff. I travelled 40 mins and I am not disappointed at all. Food fresh and cooked properly , we even got a free cake. We spent £30 for 2 large meals with rice , plantain and coleslaw , a large side of fried fish , 2 dumplings and drinks. All this for £30 and cooked perfectly in 2025 ?? You won’t find a better place than here. You definitely need to come here!! We couldn’t even wait to get home we ate in the car right in front of the shop lol.”

“My opinion of this food outlet is contrary to some of the reviews below. This is a family run business and everyone that i have ever dealt with have been friendly, happy and very polite. The food is tasty, healthy and high quality. See the photo below of my order this evening. (my personal favourite is the lamb mutton curry, meat always tender/good quality) Purley doesn't have any good food takeaways, in fact the standard is shocking, but Baxfood is the exception to this. Thank god they chose Purley to base their business.”
