“Lovely coffee & cakes. Great to have a hot drink in a cafe (and loos) in the Rec!”
“We had a wonderful experience tasting wines for our wedding. Beth was super knowledgable and allowed us to take our time and select the wines we wanted to try as well as some fab recommendations based on our preferences. My MOH, the best man, my fiancé and I all had a great time Thank you!”
“Loved this restaurant. We visited on a Friday afternoon and had a great time. Friendly staff and great food.”
“Yummy! Good vegan breakfast available, and dairy alternatives for coffee. Only issue is that it is quite cold inside the cafe as it feels like there is a door open at the back so quite draughty, food is great though!”
“Angelika is an excellent waitress, she’s super friendly, attentive, patient, speedy and really helpful. Food is full of flavour and perfectly cooked. It’s also very good value for money, especially when you use the Zizzi loyalty points. Will definitely be back again!”
“Visited Giggling Squid - Chistlehurst for the first time today. This restaurant is beautiful and the decor is light and fresh. The food was very nice. We ordered starters of the crispy squid bits, north eastern papaya salad and money bag dumplings which were all very tasty. For mains, we ordered beef massaging curry with coconut rice and prawn pad thai all very delicious. The only criticism is the Thai Ice tea was on the smaller side and ok for taste. The service was nice and friendly. Also, slightly overpriced but food was very good. There is parking in bays right outside but it is charged within certain hours Monday to Saturday. Overall, I would definitely recommend and will be returning.”
“Wonderful service and food. We were treated really well, the restaurant was spacious and had a lovely atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their food and all the staff were lovely.”
“First time back to the Ramblers Rest in 42 years. Did not order food, but the beer was great. Hope to return sooner than 42 years.”
“Wow.... Just 11 minutes from ordering online via their website to receiving a knock on the front door. Genuinely surprised when I heard the knock as the drive takes 2 minutes minimum. Vegan wings were decent as well.”
“Good customer service from the young lad who was very helpful this past Sunday helping me get my ice cream”
“Well stocked new M&S food shop, been open just over a week now.plenty of staff to help, not much of a queue at the checkout even though it is quite busy”
“Nice store, shame about the break ins definitely could benefit from a security guard. Staff are helpful and friendly two girls in particular Chloe/Carla always happy and making you feel welcome in the store. It is pricey for some bits and bobs but isn’t it everywhere. Update- needs a security guard!”
“A delightful experience. Having previously visited for superb coffee and delicious pastries, I couldn't resist the opportunity to book when offered the opportunity to dine here for a summer special. The menu looked irresistible and did not disappoint! Very high attention to detail and beautiful presentation paved the way for a delicious culinary experience (menu attached). Owned and run by a lovely couple I cannot recommend highly enough this wonderful cafe and occasional restaurant. Every item is simply exquisite and I am so glad I booked. Every course was lovingly and delicately presented with pride in a super chilled and leisurely alfresco restaurant. Simply delightful and highly recommended.”
“This cafe provided an invaluable service to the community during lockdown and received a letter of thanks from Bromley. I still go there on an almost daily basis to support this business as it supported many of us during the lockdown. Good food with generous ingredients and good coffee. Highly recommended”
“Great and fast service, lovely lamb shish kebabs and my go to for a fast doner meat meal when coming back from London, well done boys!”
“Highly unusual pub giving the appearance of a flower shop when you enter but hiding a small bar with extensive selection of very fine craft beers and ciders at the back. Lovely quiet atmosphere for drinking and chatting with great staff. An absolute must stopover for anybody passing through the Chislehurst, Bromley, Sidcup area.”
“Great local wine shop with a good selection of wines. Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Enjoyable to stop by for a drink as well.”
“We wanted to have oysters, and we got it at this place. When we came we decided to order different things. There were many different seafood. It was all very tasty. We would like to say special thanks for waitress Sergùl. She was a very helpful and very nice person. Recommended that place.”
“Came for a midweek birthday lunch and had a great experience. The food is absolutely delicious and, as other reviewers have said, it is priced fairly for what you get - the higher prices are definitely reflected in the quality! We got the house platter, prawns, scallops, bread and butter and chips, and a bottle of Kentish sparkling wine. Particular highlights were the chilli salted prawns (so delicious!!), house chips, scallops and oysters. The servers were very friendly and attentive in topping up our wine and checking we were ok. We sat outside which was lovely given the warmer weather (although you are quite close to the road and I’d love to experience the ambience inside next time!).”
“Really lovely dining experience with friends, staff were welcoming and friendly, with a real Italian family vibe, food was amazing…. Would highly recommend!”
“This is a family owned Italian restaurant owned by an Italian person, with a great ambience.. The food is amazing, always fresh and cooked well. The service is second to none. They always make you feel special and can't do enough for you. Great selection of hot and cold dishes, as well as fish and meat options. It is a very popular restaurant with the locals and gets really busy, so make sure to book a table.”
“I've been coming to this fish and chip shop for over 10 years, and it's about time I left a review! The quality has been consistently excellent over the years – perfectly crispy batter, fresh fish, and generous portions. The chips are always hot and golden, just the way they should be. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick, even during busy times. It's hands down the best chippy around, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommended!”
“As a now regular to this restaurant, i would defoliate consider this the best Indian food in chislehurst. The papadams are delicate and crispy; served with a sweet yoghurt mint sauce, a jammy mango chutney and a small diced salad. The samosas are always steaming hot and have a thick layer of crisp pasty met with a explosion of spices and fluffy vegetables. They are always served with a pomegranate reduction sauce. The mixed grill is one is sensational. Perfectly cooked tandoori meats all enveloped with deep marinade and so tender. The soft shell crab was crispy, flavourful and buttery. It’s only downside was it tasted a tiny bit fishy. The lamb jalfrezi is large chunks of juicy lamb with a curry sauce that has immaculate flavour. Garlic chilli prawns are a staple at ginger and spices and in my opinion the beat item on the menu and the best prawns i have ever had. But be were; the are not mild”
“I celebrated my birthday here and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The food was super delicious, and there’s so much to choose from on the menu. My friends and I all ordered different dishes, and everyone loved what they got. The best part? They surprised me with a slice of cake and a candle—such a sweet and unexpected touch! The service was great too, and we’ll definitely be coming back again. Can’t wait for the next visit!”
“This place is the Best place in and around Chislehurst, Trust Me! 100% The Breakfasts are absolutely spot on!! I have recently tried their roast dinners on various different days and Oh My God! It is out of this world, I am not joking please Try it and see for yourselves. Sev and Ali are really nice people and they know how to look after their customers. This is a good Old Fashioned Cafe! Nothing Posh here!! Thank you so much and hopefully see you again soon. X Best Hus”
“I have eaten here many times and it's always good. The salads are very large, tasty and filling. Wraps are huge! There is a lot of variety to choose from. Great chips. Definitely recommend. The kids menu is great too, not just the usual burger and chips, plenty of options. Makes a change from the chain restaurants in the high street.”
“AMAZING FOOD!!! Best mother's day meal we have had.... If love a pudding you won't be disappointed with the choice. So much meat with the main. Definitely recommend. You can also bring your own alcohol which keeps your bills down as well.”
“Booked for a large group and had a set menu that was excellent value. The food was fantastic and the service was great. Will definitely be returning:)”
“Came for a quick drink, came here a few years ago and really liked it, still a great place. Went on a Sunday lunchtime, not the best time because it was packed. Didn't stay to eat but if you do want to then I recommend booking in advance if they take reservations. We sat outside which was fine since it was a nice day. Friendly, welcoming and helpful service from the gent behind the bar (possibly the manager/owner). Very family orientated feel to the place. Very cosy inside. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices.”
“been coming to this restuarnt since mid 80s. Nice warm hot food, great choice on Menu, fairly priced and freindly staff. To any of the bad reviewers on here you must have this place confused with somewhere else.”
