“Cafe run by charity Mencap - fantastic initiative to give people with learning disabilities the chance to learn skills in catering, customer services and hospitality. I have never eaten there but just had a quick coffee / kids snacks - it doesn't feel that warm and cosy to me, so I've never been tempted to linger too long. My suggestion would be to remove the PCs and introduce some sofas and perhaps some toys or games. Not sure how feasible that would be!”
“I always enjoy my coffee here. The coffee is excellent, the staff are amazing, and Georgie is a lovely person with a positive attitude who creates beautiful coffee art.”
“Had a fantastic experience at o’neill’s watford! Alicia was so kinds and was so accomodating when we wanted to move to a larger table that was covered with another groups food. She worked quickly to get it clear, and made sure we were well looked after! what a lovely lady, thank you for your service!! Regan was also super lovely and turned down the music for us when we were right next to the speakers! what a lovely place, with fabulous staff. :))”
“Plenty of open space and wooded areas to explore, with the well appointed hub for all your other needs(cafe, toilets), and a great play park for the kiddies. Miniature railway and a small farm nearby, can't recommend enough. We went for this year's fireworks display and it didn't disappoint. Well worth a family visit.”
“Very quiet property, safe and secure and amazing location. My husband and l have been staying for over a month and are really pleased we chose to stay here. Very close to the train station, Sainsbury’s, and the Shopping Centre is just round the corner too. Lots of lovely cafes and shops nearby , as well as great value for money , extremely helpful staff; Katie is such a great host and Jamie is always happy to help! I would highly recommend this property. Thank you Katie and Jamie!!”
“Go here a few times a week to mainly grab a chicken katsu salad which is 10/10. Sometimes have other food like sweet and sour chicken or katsu curry. Food is always very good and service is normally also perfect. Although lately have noticed service to be getting a little slower. Was waiting to be served for nearly 10 minutes whilst Deliveroo drivers coming in after me were getting served straight away. That just needs improving”
“went in Jan 2022 and was served by a delightful young lady, Anjilee. Food was like eating at your nans whilst she has cataracts. Despite her challenges, Angeli was a great waitress and it’s good to see places giving an opportunity to people like her!”
“Moving to another country is always difficult in the beginning, imagine during a pandemic. The Homely Apartments’ management was very helpful, quick to respond to all my questions and resolve all my wishes with great flexibility and care. I arrived in a spotless clean and well kept, almost brand new apartment. It was warm, safe and very well equipt in every aspect. I didn’t have to buy anything, only food for myself. The area is quiet and there is a nice field behind where I could go running track. To get to the city center is a 5 minutes drive, supermarkets also. I highly recommend it for long and even for shorter terms, very comfortable and convenient.”
“Our wonderful local bar. 100% recommended. Happy hours Monday and Tuesday. Cheese board free with a bottle of wine to drink in on Wednesday.”
“Just wanted to say what an amazing job Mikaela in Watford did waxing & tinting my eyebrows. I have had bad experiences in the past but she took time to listen and understand what I wanted, she took her time and I was so happy with the end result. I would highly recommend her and will be returning.”
“Excellent micropub close to Watford’s Vicarage Lane football stadium. Four varied real ales served in great condition”
“Recently stayed here for trip to Harry Potter world. Excellent accommodation, comfortable beds. 2 bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Everything you need to for a home away from home stay. Parking was excellent. Close to train station just a couple of mins drive. We had a day in London and it is only 1 stop on the fast train. Would definitely stay here again.”
“Perch & Co. near Croxley station is an absolute gem! The rustic vibe of the café immediately makes you feel at home, with its warm, cozy atmosphere and charming decor. The food is exceptional, made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Their menu offers a great variety, catering to all tastes, from hearty breakfast options to delicious lunch specials. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about their customers. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely meal, Perch & Co. never disappoints. Highly recommended!”
“What a lovely space for events and creative people. Music, dancing and lots more”
“Amazing and beautiful park for walks with your dog. It has a lot to offer not only to pet owners but also to parents or anyone who enjoys nature 2h free parking included but remember to take a ticket even for free period. There are at least 2 cafe points there, these are a bit pricey but they have good coffee.”
“I always have a relaxing time at Villiers. This is a cozy and laidback café, with a lot of different treats on offer that cater to a variety of diets. There are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. I was very appreciative that I could choose between a few flourless snacks. I’ve had the flapjack, the cheesecake, and the salted caramel brownie, all of which I enjoyed. Shoutout to the barista Anna, who always ensures that the gluten free goodies I get are handled safely so I can enjoy them without getting a reaction! The coffee is very good, and I can't complain when there's nice latte art. I don’t love that the latte is served in a glass instead of a mug, but that's more of a preference than a comment on the quality. It tastes great regardless! In short: very nice and recommend!”
“Friendly service, great coffee. Every time I am working at Peri Peri Original a few doors down from Jenny’s i always pop in for a latte (half sugar) The guys are mega friendly and so polite. Food is also really tasty and a large menu to choose from. Lovely little family run cafe where it’s always service with a smile. :)”
“I had a wonderful brunch experience at The Garden Rooms. Christina, our server, was friendly and efficient, making our visit even more enjoyable. The smashed avocado on sourdough and huevos rancheros were both incredibly tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere was pleasant, with great background music and lovely green decor that added to the ambiance. I highly recommend this place for a delightful brunch outing.”
“Everyone enjoyed their food, the matcha was really good, the music really good and the actually inside of the cafe is gorgeous. All the servers were really nice & accommodating (especially Lisa! she took great photos for us) even though we had a big group. Overall had a great time and would definitely come back!”
“Great cafe, great atmosphere, great food and the service is brilliant, I think her name was Julia who served me and woow she should be the owner or at least manager, she was so amazing and professional I can't thank her enough for a beautiful service, definitely coming back, thank you. #flipper”
“Elaine is such a friendly landlady! Always feel welcome. Forgot my phone once and the team not only kept it aside for me, but even charged it for when I picked it up! Absolutely stellar every time! And really good quality beer!”
“Hanako Brings Japan to Watford When I was looking for authentic Japanese food nearby, a few restaurants came up. But Hanako immediately caught my attention. Just from the Google review photos of their sushi and sashimi, I could see the craftsmanship. The presentation looked simple and neat, not overly decorated, but refined in a way that reminded me of true Japanese style. My Japanese friend and I were so excited that we arrived before the restaurant opened. The owner kindly let us in early, which was already such a warm welcome. Inside, the atmosphere was cozy and felt just like a small restaurant in Japan. The menu was easy to understand with clear English, and allergy information was clearly shown. On top of that, the owner kindly explained some of the dishes to us as well. I ordered the nabe udon and a sashimi sushi set. My friend had the shoyu ramen. The portion sizes were quite big for us, but because everything tasted so good, we finished it all. The flavors were very authentic but also easy to enjoy for people who may not be familiar with Japanese food. If I had to describe it in Japanese, I would say it has a 優しい味, meaning a gentle and comforting taste. We had a lovely chat with the owner. She told us that the tuna sashimi is 本マグロ, which is bluefin tuna imported from Japan. That truly impressed us, and you could taste the quality. Everything felt so fresh and nourishing. What surprised me even more is that Hanako has been open for 23 years. That’s nearly the same age as me. It made me think about how Japanese food wasn’t very common in the UK back then. I can only imagine how much this restaurant has gone through over the years to continue sharing this kind of food with the community. I wrote this review to share my appreciation for the food and people at Hanako. If you’re reading the menu outside and not sure whether to go in, I really recommend you try it. This place is a hidden gem.”
“Definitely our favourite pizza for miles around and the service is amazing too. We ordered through Just Eat but the app was behaving strangely so we phoned the restaurant. They confirmed our order was ready but no delivery driver had shown up after waiting a few minutes longer we ended up going to collect the order ourselves and they gave us some free brownies by way of apology!”
“A hidden gem! Had a lovely visit over the weekend, friendly staff, lots of places to sit and have some food or rest by the lake. Honestly it's more of a zoo than a farm with lots of exotic animals. Just to note there is no parking directly on the farm premises unless you hold a blue badge but not really an issue plenty of spaces on roads or if you are lucky within cassiobury park car park.”
“We return every year when we come back to the UK and they are outstanding in every way, great food, very friendly and personable and very reasonable prices. We will be back next year!”
“Amazing little breakfast place lovely customer service and amazing fresh food would highly recommend if your in the area Would definitely be visiting here again”
“I had an amazing experience at Perk Coffee and everyone was super friendly. I would highly recommend this coffee shop. The atmosphere of the coffee shop is extremely cozy and the coffee i had was amazing.”
“Excellent food! We ordered really late after a long day at work and the food was so fresh, warm and flavorful when it arrived. New favourite place!”
“A perfect place for a walk, picnic, kids activities or running. Clean and safe!”
“Made for having Fun....useful in summer”
