“This is by far the best café I have ever been to! The menu has a wide range of affordable and delicious items - especially the homemade cakes! All of the staff, especially the owner are kind and accommodating. Myself and my boyfriend spend a lot of time here, revising/studying and are always made to feel welcome here. The decor is beautiful and there are occasionally fun events held here in the evening. If you are in Blackhorse Road or a student situated locally, I would definitely recommend visiting as it is my most favourite place to go to! “The place has a very large selection of breakfasts. We ordered an English breakfast and an Explosion Waffle, which were very tasty. The cappuccino was nice and very large. The atmosphere is a little intimidating because of the small space, which accommodates dozens of people. We were in a hurry to get up after breakfast, as it was not cozy. If that doesn't impress you, the place is definitely worth it.”

“Really delicious food, excellent range of spiciness, and overall a very friendly environment. There is not a large amount of space, so if you know you'll be going during peak hours, it would be best to have a reservation ahead of time. Would especially recommend any of the noodle-based dishes as the noodles tasted amazing!”

“Finally got around to visiting today and it was a great experience. Food was quality, staff were super nice and attentive, and the outdoor seating was cute and kept warm. Definitely try the chicken tikka (moist and flavourful!). The tawa was presented really nicely and the portion size was 100% worth the price. Cocktails were tasty and I recommend trying their shooters. We had a few of them and they were nice enough to let us try a new one on the house. Very interesting combinations that I wouldn’t usually think to get but I’m happy that I tried them. I’m sorry we didn’t get your names but all of you were amazing and provided 10/10 service!”

“It was our first time here. My mum who complains about all types of places we visit for food said the food is "excellent". We loved the food and the portion sizes are huge!! “A cold and slightly rainy Sunday morning deserves a coffee and walnut cake, with a cappuccino, right? Both were lovely, and one of the young ladies from the staff there asking how the coffee and cake were is a nice welcoming gesture. There’s a play area at the back of the shop (which I didn’t photo as there are children playing there) and the overall ambience was pleasant.”

“Performed at the school down the road, and needed somewhere for breakfast afterwards. There was nothing else open before 11. Very happy with the service and the food here. Friendly, smiley staff and quick, hot food. Testy and good portion sizes. A good number of people there too, a nice vibe.”

“Coming from Alberta, Canada, mourning the passing of my father this last February, I found solace and peace walking through both the East and West Cemeteries at Highgate. The atmosphere was serene and reflective—exactly what I needed during such a difficult time. After my walk, I stopped at the Colonnade Café, where I was warmly greeted and served what might honestly be the best latte I’ve ever had. The batista's warmth and excellent service, plus the roaming fox family, added to the whole experience that will leave a lasting impression. Thank you! “Clearly a dog friendly and pleasant place to come and sit and have your coffee and cake. Plenty of sockets for those with laptops and ‘working from home’ The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it came to coffee. The day that we came in we would have liked a slightly better selection of pastries as some options were already sold out. I guess that’s what you get when you are popular. Overall a positive experience and would return.”

“After moving to the UK for 2 months I finally found a great coffee. My coffee was made by Ben and it's so great. It's so balanced with the creaminess of the milk, and I can still taste the strong coffee flavor. I usually found coffee in London to be more on the mild side with too much milk flavor. The baristas here are so kind and the ambiance is nice. I will keep coming back. Will try their hand filter next time. Thank you Ben and Lift Coffee!”
