“I ordered this today off uber eats, and I must say by far this is definitely the best Aromatic duck I’ve ever tasted. Seasoned and cooked to perfection and a very large portion. Very generous with free savoury confectionary such as prawn crackers and fortune cookies, everyone loves a fortune cookie, especially this time of year! “It's been a while since I'd eaten at The Red Lion. I was excited to return, as I've always enjoyed the food and the riverside setting is stunning. It's was a bit rainy when we went, so we sat in the lovely restaurant area. It was 5pm during the week, so it was quiet when we arrived. We were served by a few different members of staff during our meal. The service was friendly, professional and attentive. It's a great menu with good choice (without being to big). The starters were all delicious, and they also have a choice of bar snacks, so my son chose the croquettes from that part of the menu. The mains were also great. Generous portions, beautifully presented, all delicious and made with quality ingredients. Our children wanted desserts, so my wife and I, although very full, shared an apple tarte tatin. It was amazing. All in all, an outstanding meal, and a big step up from normal pub food. A lovely NZ sauvignon blanc at a reasonable price too! Highly recommend.”
