“Excellent customer service by Shirley baby. An absolute legend who made the check in as smooth as possible on a christmas night. (Apologies didnt catch the other fellas name) Give the night staff a payrise - they even opened the door for us and helped with our luggage. Dont expect that kind of service from a Travelodge. Very respectful staff. Check out was brilliant. Free kit kat from the staff. Bargain price and a decent bed!! Thanks.”

“Really enjoyed my stay here, the staff were outstanding and hospitable, the bar next to the lobby had a welcoming, cozy feel, wonderful menu and lovely rooms. I'm not sure about some of the complaints on the size, it seemed average to me, but it was very clean which is high on my importance list, as was the rest of the hotel. This hotel is away from the city bustle a bit, but a lot of trees around the property make it very relaxing and a pleasure to escape the traffic. My only feedback is the vegan sausage in the morning was freezer burned and a little bland, they can be tossed in oil & seasoning to add flavor, but fresh/defrosted is best. My veg pizza was wonderful, so was the veg burger. Great buffet in morning. Outstanding staff professionalism in housekeeping and lobby.”

“Stayed over night at the holiday inn express for my birthday due to some event. Very close to the town centre, amazing staff nothing was too much hassle. Big shout out to Ryan one of the mangers who had a very welcoming personality always down for a laugh and a chit chat! Defiantly stay again! Room were great, walk in showers were spacious, loved the purple light that was in the bathroom not too bright as well.”

“I can't understand why this stunning hotel has only 3 stars! I was completely enchanted, just standing in front of this very old building with its wealth of ornate detailing and its very interesting history. I was blown away by the enormous chandelier in the lobby and highly ornate and unusual stairs and stair bridges. You can learn about the history in various places throughout the hotel. I had a good look around and was captivated! I was fortunate enough to see it in its full Christmas glory aswell. Fitting that the Nutcracker soldiers guard the stairs. The hotel was very, very clean, very atmospheric (!). Very warm and inviting. My room had everything I needed and the bar was very relaxed and lovely, unusual with its interesting features and spacious like the rest of the hotel. The staff are helpful and polite. Check in and out was easy. What more could you need? I would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay there again.”

“I stayed at Premier Inn South - booked the shuttle for 0800 14th November. Driver arrived early - got everyone together & seated according to terminal requirements. Also took payment before setting off which saves a lot of messing about when dropping off. Got to my terminal & he gave me directions how to get to departures. I always use Club Cars but have to say on this occasion I was very satisfied with the excellent service”

“I made a last minute appointment with Ailsa, she did a reworking of a tattoo I really hated and I love it now and also designed a small tattoo for me. I am always nervous going to a new city and new artist but Ailsa and the whole team made me feel so comfortable and like I was among friends. I’d definitely go again and had an amazing experience.”

Paul was quick to put me at ease from the initial consultation to actually doing it. It was quick and painless and in and out in under 2 hours. She makes you feel welcome in her studio (something like being at home), you don’t feel rushed and she takes time to explain everything. “We had a lovely welcome, chocolates on the bed, bottles of water and tea & coffee and biscuits along with a kettle in the room, which was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and nothing was to much trouble. We will definitely be back.”

Silky smooth with that perfect balance of strength and creaminess. It’s not just the coffee, though — the vibe is always friendly, no matter how early (or how zombie-like I look before caffeine). “My husband, John has just come back from his appointment here with Dave. Wow!! Dave has done an amazing cover up on a tattoo my husband has 'put up' with for years. When he first had the old one done,it was fine, my husband was a lot younger,but over the years, it has changed so much it became an embarrassment and made him self concious. The cover up is absolutely fantastic. Thankyou Dave, another tribute to your amazing 'gift'.”

One of the few truly independent places like it in Manchester, who put the time and care into putting on events geared towards community rather than just trying to flog as much booze as possible. The kind of place where you get not one but TWO little biscuits with your coffee!”

“We are here celebrating one of our friends’ birthday - we ordered coffee and milkshakes - milkshakes are really nice, from real ice cream - we also chose some mugs and plates to paint on - staff are friendly and helpful - when we cannot find the paint we want, staff has helped us find it - we do not know how they would become yet, as we will have to come back to collect them afterwards - it’s nice place to spend time chatting and painting some ceramic mugs or plates with friends and families”

“Recently had my nose pierced with Hayley. Very professional and sterile when doing the piercings. Very informative with how to keep it clean and dos and donts! “Childhood walking area, nice field at the start where dogs can run around. Small stream that dogs can get a drink or play in. You can walk further into the wooded area and up to a disused rail line and reservoir, leading further onto the moors. Dogs and people are able to get down to the water.”
