Curry lover in Manchester

“Dishoom Spinningfields is one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester. When it first opened back in 2018, it was Dishoom’s first restaurant in Northern England, and since then they’ve set a remarkable standard of both food and service quality and certainly left me coming back for more. The interior is super impressive, cool and unique. Dishoom is based on the old Irani cafés in Bombay, and the interior is so large and feels like no other restaurant in the city. My go-to dishes are the Chicken Ruby with Basmati Rice and occasionally the Gunpowder Potatoes. The portion sizes are generous, and the rich spices of the curry are super good — it’s obvious they use great quality ingredients and seasonings. For drinks, again the selection is vast, with my favourites being the regular Chai and the Mango Lassi, which are both really good. There is always a staff member walking around topping up tap water, so you’ll never go thirsty. The pricing is a little high, but I feel it is worth it for the quality. Matka Holders can also roll a dice at the end of their meal to potentially earn everything for free, food and alcohol included, during certain times. This makes it all fun, being able to put the meal on the roll of a dice. Due to having an allergy, I can scan a QR code on the menu for the latest information, and all the staff members are well trained in dealing with allergies. They’re aware of coeliac disease and the danger of cross-contamination, and always keep my items separate from my friends’ when I dine in a group. Overall, this is one of the places to be in Manchester if you’re looking for good food with fantastic allergy awareness, overall ambience/vibes, food and service quality. It’s a place that you can go for a special occasion or even a quick lunch (although a lunch menu / meal-deal offer would make it even more enticing for sure!).”

“Some of the best ramen I've ever had. Came in here for a last minuet meal before a gig, incredible service and fast food. The pork ramen was smokey and rich with an incredible pull apart pork joint on top. The chicken ramen had a lighter broth to it but full of flavour and morish. Fried chicken was tender and crisp, felt homemade and cozy. The atmosphere was cool and stylish, felt authentic for a small ramen shop, simple but effective. Would absolutely eat here again!”

“Had a impromptu lunch date at this cafe and it was wonderful! the atmosphere was relaxing and very welcoming. The staff are warm and helpful ,we had to a make dietary request and they accommodated it and it wasn't any bother. cafe is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, they have different types of chairs which was a life saver for my back! Absolutely loved the food , a little expensive I would say but definitely worth it , best BBQ chicken cheese toastie I've had and the salad that accompanied it was gorgeous. Just what was need on a hot day. I would definitely recommend this place !”

“It was my first time trying Massaman curry, and I ordered it with chicken. The food was delicious and the portion was reasonably well-sized. If you’re looking for a spicy Thai dish, this isn’t the one for you. However, if you’re looking for a rich, creamy, and flavourful curry, you should definitely give this one a try!”

“You simply HAVE to visit this Establishment. The atmosphere is excellent and when you arrive and enter the premises, you are quickly (and warmly) greeted with a friendly smile and a helpful Employee. As a Disabled Person, I found the layout, set-up and arrangement of the furniture easily navigable with ample room to move around. I have not encountered a more helpful Staff when visiting a Restaurant and my opinion of them is that they are of the highest calibre and quality. I wish to express my personal, sincere and heartfelt thanks to Waiter 'V' and the Manager. They (both) are extremely personable, professional, friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. They gave me their time and were genuinely interested and could not have done more to help me. I cannot praise them enough. Their conduct, behaviour, attitude and persona(s) shall keep me coming back to [and frequenting] this Establishment often. The food is of the highest quality, but you'll just have to take my word on that and go and sample [it] for yourself! You won't regret it... I don't want to spoil the surprise! The table(s) are far enough apart so as to maintain a conversation without feeling overlooked or eavesdropped on. The Establishment is clean and the decor is tasteful. I enjoy visiting this Establishment and would rate it: exceptional. What makes this place stand out from the rest / it's competition is the: service. The superb Staff make this a super Establishment. Look no further if you are looking for a new 'local'. In this writer's humble view, you won't find one better!”

“Good, honest Thai food. We've lived in the area for about five years and this is the best take away by far. I normally order the Tamarind Duck which is always great but I fancied a change. I tried the Larb Moo (minced pork salad) instead and it was exceptional. I always order the honey spare ribs and Thai fish cakes as sides/starters and they never disappoint. Tom Kha Gai is also great.”

The offer saves the customer over £10, which is far from us being greedy. The ingredients have gone up in price, so unfortunately businesses have to reflect this in the prices they charge. “Never ordered from Curry house before ,I didn't order through just eats ,but direct via Google search. This was without any doubt the best curry we have had for a long time . Our time delivery was 45 mins to an hour was with us in 45 minutes,neatly packed and in proper sealed tin foil cartons and piping hot !! Will be ordering again if only for the rice alone which was soft and fluffy!!”

“We ( myself and my girlfriend) ordered a new laptop ( she did) but it wasn't available in Halifax at this price , so decided to buy it from the Manchester branch , then decided to make it a day out in Manchester that we always enjoy.. Anyway , we arrived at the store , the staff ( chap) was very helpful , and quickly found our order , checking it was the right one , double checking we were the actual customer who had paid for it , then done ....very helpfull, would not hesitate to do it again... “It's a returns shop so went in for a fridge freezer and an under counter fridge both were new but a bit banged up if you don't care about that and just want something that does the job then great, you can get a good price, otherwise would suggest a normal Currys.”

“Fabulous Thai Food, sat next to the radiator, had veggie spring rolls and massaman curry. Was early when we visited so quieter than usual, service was tip top and so friendly. “Indian Affair is hands down my favourite spot for Indian food in Chorlton - I come here regularly and always leave full & happy. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. My go-to order is Butter Chicken with their garlic naan and perfectly cooked pilau rice. The Lamb Nihari is another favourite - rich, tender and a great portion size! And if you love street food-style starters, the Samosa Chaat is a must-try. On top of the amazing food, the prices are really reasonable for the quality you get. Whether you’re dining in or getting a takeaway, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend checking this place out!”

“Highly recommend!! Food, service and atmosphere excellent!!! I called up before to see if we could book and lucky they had an hour free to offer us a table for 2, I also mentioned I am celiac and it was no issue at all. When we arrived it was fairly busy but that didn’t affect the service or friendly atmosphere. The waiter remembered I mentioned celiac/gf. We ordered the summer rolls and chicken wings (none gluten free) and they offered to make the chicken wings gluten free which meant I could try them too! I could have eaten 10! They were so tasty!! I had the traditional pho for my main, the broth was full of flavour and lots of coriander which I love!! My partner ordered drunken chicken noodles which I wanted to try but it wasn’t GF, they said they could make it GF next time, which is great news! It’s more often places offer to make food gluten free so this was a pleasant surprise. They definitely accommodate GF needs. Everything tasted so good!! You wouldn’t think it was gluten free, I would definitely recommend to anyone, celiac or not! I’ll definitely be going back again.”

“Booked a table for 7 of us at 7pm. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed and shown straight to our table. The service was amazing. Offered drinks and starters straight away. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The starters and mains were fresh, hot and tasted amazing! Everything was perfect. The atmosphere is very cosy and welcoming. Probably a strange thing to mention, but as someone who has had spinal surgery and struggles with comfort, the seats here were sooo comfortable! Staff are friendly and pleasant. Most importantly though, the food here is delicious and I cant wait to come back!!!”
