“The Manchester College is the largest further education college in the United Kingdom. It is the largest provider of 16–19 and adult education in Greater Manchester. The origins of the college go back to the early 19th century St. John's Sunday school, a pioneering school for workers. By the 1950s this had evolved into St John's and Openshaw Technical College. Later mergers created the Central College Manchester which became The Manchester College of Arts and Technology in Manchester, while institutions in Central Manchester, Fielden Park, Arden and Wythenshawe merged to form City College Manchester. I was put at ease straight away when Ceri welcomed us and reassured me the children will have fun and will be well looked after, having never left my children anywhere I was anxious. Once I picked them up my mind was put at rest immediately and our boys wanted to go back the following day and go earlier. The work all of the children produced was to a very high standard and this was all rehearsed in less than a week. I’m really enjoying my time here.The teachers and staff are so supportive and helpful. I’ve learned a lot and feel more confident every day. It’s a great place to study! Last year, I completed the ESOL (16-18) Entry 3 course with the teacher Mark Gourlay , which helped me build my English skills and confidence. This year, I’m studying Functional Skills English and Maths with the adult group, and I’m really enjoying it. The teachers here are fantastic — my Maths teacher, Maryama Gholami, and my English teacher, Nuzhat Siddique, and my IT Teacher Asif Saleh are all very supportive, kind, and always explain everything clearly. They always take the time to help every student and make sure we all understand the lesson. The staff are else very helpful and friendly. Whenever I need help or have a question, there is always someone there to support me. The college offers so many great facilities, and the learning environment is very comfortable and welcoming.
