I recently came for a birthday meal with my wife, and though we hadn’t mentioned it was my birthday, the staff surprised me with a slice of cake and even sang for me without us asking or expecting anything. “Outstanding pub. Situated a twenty minute walk, depending on fitness, from Kearsley train station. Walk is downhill there but obviously uphill back. Easily accessable from Farnworth by bus. Child and dog friendly. Lovely country pub decor, with a main room and little quieter nooks at the front. Bar is small so there will probably be queueing. Said to be one of the top five pubs in Bolton area and I heartily agree. I had a wonderful chilly con carnie and my wife had the cheese and onion pie, she said it was the best homemade cheese and onion pie shes ever had in a pub, amazing chef & staff and we should know because weve been in quite afew. Car park and beer garden at the back. Beautiful setting”

“We will be ordering from here again, best Chicken in Greater Manchester. Ordered via Just Eat and this was amazing, I don’t usually do reviews on fast food places but I couldn’t stop myself with this. Perfectly juicy and seasoned chicken strips which went down a treat - also fantastic value for money. The chips with cheese were particularly nice with a very healthy portion. The onion rings were very crispy and sweet. I really couldn’t find anything to complain about. Beautiful food.”
