“Absolutely hidden gem cafe in Stockport with good price. All the food source from the best in local farms. My son Luke loves the sausages so much and so am I. The other favorite is the mushroom soup, fresh made and creamy. If you want some dessert, I would highly recommend the Victoria sponge and fresh made pancake.”

“Had the carvery. All the vegetables were lovely, perfectly cooked. Roasties would have been nicer with a fluffier type of potato. Roast beef beautiful. Perfect apple crumble with loads of custard. Lovely waitress and lovely manager from the Hesketh which closed down and is still missed.”

“I thought I’d give it a try as the local chippy is a bit hit and miss. Had no expectations as never heard of them. Wow was I pleasantly surprised. How they cook that fish I’ll never know, it tasted fresh, there was zero Grease and serviced with salad? Which I was a bit, that’s strange but it was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to work my way through the menu. “Chips were lovely too!” Highly recommend, give it a try as you don’t know what you’re missing. Staff are lovely and helpful too. Thank you for a fantastic meal.”

“Every visit to Long Bar feels like stepping into my own living room. The warmth of the staff, their personal touch, and the way they know us by name create such a welcoming atmosphere. It’s rare to find a place that makes you feel so at home. Now, let’s talk about the food—because Chef Dave is truly outstanding. I don’t usually do “best,” but Dave? He cooks a Sunday roast that is nothing short of exceptional. And it’s not just the roast—every dish I’ve had here has been fantastic. You can tell there’s real passion behind every plate. I come here regularly, whether it’s for a meal, a drink with friends, or—let’s be honest—sometimes more than one drink! It’s always a great experience. This is the first time I’ve taken the time to write a review, not because I didn’t want to, but because I never felt the need—Long Bar speaks for itself. But I do think it’s important to acknowledge the people who put passion into what they do, and Chef Dave and the whole team here deserve all the recognition. As a proud Bramhall local and a small business owner myself, I believe in supporting our village’s businesses. Places like Long Bar make all the difference in creating a welcoming community. If you haven’t been yet, you absolutely should. Highly recommended!”

“I must have driven past this place a thousand times, and had never considered sitting down to eat, as it looks nothing much from outside, but then I was invited for lunch here. The food was amazing, and the staff warm and welcoming. All in all a really pleasant surprise. I'll be going back for sure!”

“I found an oval glass sequin thing in my food. I guess it fell off the woman's bracelet, or necklace, or earring that was cooking the food. The thing is I never mentioned it to them and I still buy meals from here. I suppose it's a 1 in a million thing. It's just a good job I chew my food before swallowing it, because that thing was about 1 inch long, 0.5 inch across and about 0.25 inch thick, with a sharp edge around it. Whatever it was, it was obviously meant to stay glued into whatever item of jewelry it fell from. What I always laugh about is, it was in one of their most expensive dishes "Singapore Vermicelli". Oh well. I know I could have made a big stink, but I could understand at the time, whoever cooked the meal had obviously just brushed their wrist or whatever on the pan and it fell in. Still, I'll never forget it, I mean what if a child swallowed that. It's unbelievable that it can end up in your food. This chippy has a high rating (4.6/5.0) on "Google Reviews". I must be the only person that had a sharp piece of glass in his food. Even so, I still rate it highly, because it's decent enough food for the cost. The only thing I didn't give 5 stars for was atmosphere because there isn't really one, I mean it's a chippy... is there meant to be? lol”

“Haven't tried the fish and chips but the Chinese dishes were tasty when we visited. Service was very quick and efficient and the portions were a generous size. Price was very reasonable for the food.”

“The BEST venue! The heart of any establishment is it's staff. This is what makes The Spinning Top, not only special, but an incredible place to be. Mike, the landlord, is the kindest, and funniest guy you will ever meet. Our band (For The Hornets) travelled a round trip of around 9 hours to play here, and we were treated like royalty by all of the staff. It rubs off on all of the customers too, as complete outsiders we were made to feel like family. The Bar: Extremely well stocked, with a huge range of craft beers, wines, and mainsteam lagers. My draft Peroni was ice clod and in a Peroni glass - they take pride in what they do. The whole place was spotless, including the loo's. Playing as a band: As I mentioned we were treated like kings. We borrowed the house equipment (a god send for a travelling band) and it was all fantastic. Mike done the sound better than most professional sound engineers that we meet. Epilogue: The following day I had a panic attack that I'd left some vital grear at the venue, and woke Mike up at silly 'o' clock in blind panic. He was calm and extremely helpful. I'm so grateful for this. My was head slightly sore from over-indulgence.... but my abs sore from laughing all night. Absolutely incredible venue. Best in Stockport and Manchester. Would travel a long way out of my way to visit here again. 11/10.”

“A fabulous breakfast place eat in or takeaway. They are always busy but the staff are super efficient. My favourite is sausage on toast! Have also indulges in the full English and that's fab, couldn't work after eating it though!!!!!”

“Good for coeliacs. We have been here twice now to get my son some dinner and they was able to provide us a kids dinner, butty, crisp, and home made cake/brownie with a drink. Good when we only live round the corner and can find something convenient for him. They really have thought about alot off people this cafe, people that are not able to talk or write are able to place pictures onto the menu to show what they want. Good community cafe.”

Wasn’t too busy when we went, staff were all fabulous, Customer service spot on and very clean. Parking is £5. Would definitely recommend.”

“We had a fantastic dinner today! The food as always was excellent but nothing truly compares to the service here. The staff are so kind and welcoming, eager to assist and generally make you feel like you're at a friend's for dinner! PJ was honestly incredible, the kids absolutely adored him and sometimes its a worry taking 2 kids under 5 for dinner but he was a breath of fresh air and made us feel comfortable the whole time! I cannot express enough how much that meant to me - you are an absolute asset to the Midland! Thank you all so much - see you again soon!”
