“Thank you so much for all your help and support and for winning my case for me. I have found them completely impartial and fair. If you have exhausted all the university internal procedures and still feel you are being unfairly treated, then I strongly encourage you to contact the OIA. I had a complaint made against me that was nonsense to be honest, resulting in me getting a written warning against my academic file which would have made me look bad. It was investigated badly by the university, and my appeal was dismissed. The OIA not only got the written warning revoked, but an apology from the University and compensation. Also the OIA wrote to the University with a full description of how they had wronged me and what outcome they expected. What was refreshing after 18 months of my uni time being ruined, was having someone else on my side. So, I am unsure why the OIA have such bad reviews? Either students are just unhappy because they didn't get the outcome they 'wanted' or this is Universities attempts at putting students off using the OIA. It is a big step to take on what feels like a whole institution, but please don't let the negative comments put you off if you genuinely feel you are being wronged.”
