When my wife passed away, I went looking for things to do and joined Kate's choir (MicWire) and not long after that started taking singing/voice coaching lessons with her. I had only ever thought of myself as a crooner but Kate encouraged me to push my boundaries, to step out of my comfort zone and has taken me to the stage where I'm working on musical theatre material with her and have recently taken my first baby steps into amateur musical theatre. My self-confidence has increased significantly over the last two or three years and I am becoming increasingly confident singing solo at gigs with the choir and the feedback from the audience has been excellent. I do have a good voice and I am learning, more and more, how to use it and how to play with it. I don't understand how she does it but she somehow makes it easy for me to understand what it is I should be doing to be able to do this, that or the other thing better.”
