“Staying in a hotel in Hanley for work. Had a walk to this place on my own a couple of nights. Good selection of craft beers to choose from, on draft and in chilled cans. There were also cask and draft cider options. When I visited there were 7 craft beers available including pilsner, IPA, sour and stout. Good selection of music on too, punk, grunge rock. Patrons and staff were friendly and welcoming, the venue is has a calm relaxed atmosphere. Come and support this local business!”

“The Lodge has triumphed again this weekend with a great music afternoon and footy in the evening (shame about the result). Carl and Sarah never disappoint, great owners and hosts with their fingers on the pulse when it comes to quality and variety of beer, a constantly changing choice whilst retaining the firm favourites that customers favour. Such a lot of transformational work has been carried out here both internally and externally, a great place to meet friends and chat with regulars. Last afternoon/evening ran like clockwork so well done to all your hardworking staff who support you. "Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came" from the theme tune to Cheers for those old enough to remember it! So "Cheers! to Carl, Sarah and all the staff.”

“We arrived mid afternoon in our Motorhome with plans to eat in the pub and stay in the car park overnight. The staff were very accommodating and said it was no problem for us to do this. We had a light lunch and drinks in the afternoon then returned in the evening for dinner at a table I had booked a few days prior to our visit. The food was fantastic and the service was first class. Will definitely return if in the area again”

“Had a small wake here after a family funeral. Food was great sandwiches, chips, pork pies, quiche, home made cake, tea and coffee. Great staff, great refurb pub. Would not hesitate to use this as a venue again.”

“Our booking was for our mother's wake, the room, restrooms were lovely and clean. Staff was helpful. Actually we would book it again, hopefully for a celebration, as would the family etc, who said any future event Weston Coyney Private Club would be their first choice. “Went today 1/10/25 for carvery lunch. Not been the Plough for a couple of years. The bar staff friendly. The carvery selection was excellent and nice and hot. Also I noticed the server of carvery was checking the meats with a thermometer and writing it down. The waitress Emma was very friendly. We will recommend the Plough and most certainly be returning again.”

“This is my 4th visit to the Pepper Mill, well travelling from Scotland on Business. The place never disappoints, so taking a small detour on my journey down south is definitely worth it. You are greeted by friendly, polite, and attentive staff, they have a great selection of food, drink and delicious desert. Caitlyn and Gemma served me with a smile, I highly recommend the hunters chicken. Open and airy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed.”
