“A cute little gem of a cafe to bring a little something to the village! Visited earlier this week as I’ve seen it advertised and thought I’d give it a shot, and what a treat it was!! Loved the cosy vibes upon entry, very friendly staff and an array of food options so you can try something new! The ladies on duty were super friendly and accommodating and made you feel very welcomed. The food was served and tasted beautifully and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and will definitely be popping down again soon even if it’s a coffee to go!!”
“Went to see the pantomime of Cinderella it was fantastic, great show loads of participation great sound, music and lighting. Well done to everyone involved! Oh and the seats had a great view”
“Fantastic coffee, innovative flavours & thoughtful presentation - such a lovely place.”
“Lovely little coffee shop! Staff are great! Coffee is excellent quality with a wide range of syrups! Good cakes! Food options are limited, but it's primarily a coffee shop, not a cafe. Dog friendly place too!”
“Beautiful cosy place with outside tables available. Friendly atmosphere. Freshly cooked food and served promptly. Staff are very friendly friendly and ready to help too. Highly recommend.”
“Fantastic place where you can get specialty coffee. Really nice gingerbread blondie and friendly staff.”
“What a find! Our usual café of choice for brunch when we are down in Tettenhall was fully booked so we tried Vanilla. We were given a very warm welcome, were seated immediately by a friendly & efficient waitress and we both thoroughly enjoyed a delicious & generous full english. We returned 5 days later and had the same experience. On this occasion I had the avocado smash & my husband a breakfast sandwich. Yummy & great VfM. They have a loyalty coupon too. We'll definitely be back to our new café of choice!”
“Excellent English breakfast. I highly recommend their Full Monty breakfast. 3 sausage, 3 bacon, 2 eggs, black pudding, hash brown, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread, 2 toast, and a cup of tea or coffee all for £6. Great value.”
“Lovely cafe with great staff and fabulous food. Went for breakfast, had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, absolutely yummy! Well worth a visit.”
“Love this place. It's now a community cafe with a revamped menu. Lots for vegans, vegetarians and non veggie meals. Also great coffee and cake, plus takeaway. Well organised, screens in place, gel available, tables cleaned after use. You may have to wait for a table, but it's worth it.”
“Woah what can we say this place was incredible!! Portion sizes are biiiiiggggg! So tasty and the ladies were incredible who served us!!”
“Stopped in on a whim with my husband today for lunch…from the moment we crossed the doorstep we felt welcome at Lychgate. We ordered the parsnip soup with brown bread and tea for two. The soup was amazing; a hint of ginger and the perfect consistency. Bread was also delicious…from a bakery in nearby Rudge. We took ginger and sticky apple toffee cake slices home for later…so glad we did! If you’re looking for a lovely dining experience or just a beverage, somewhere off the beaten path, this is the place for you. Easy to park near it, too! Enjoy! We will be back soon!”
“Only found this place today , saus chips and bread and butter . Amazing quality . Best cafe meal i had in years . Mrs had full breakfast she loved it . Will def go back again soon”
“A calming and friendly atmosphere. Staff are extremely helpful. Definitely a Covid safe environment. Food made to order, although limited a nice variety of wraps/paninis/jacket potatoes etc. Not tried their breakfast menu yet, will try on another visit. Well priced too. Will definitely be making a return visit! !”
“The Platform is situated on the South Staffordshire Railway Walk. The walk itself is well worth a few hours in lovely countryside. The walk is tarmac surface most of the way. The Platform Cafe is situated by Womborne, nr Wolverhapton. The cafe is the converted Station. There is car parking available free of charge. The Platform has been lovingly restored and the cafe is well worth a visit. Good menu and selection of cakes. There is seating inside and out, dogs are welcome outside. The staff are really friendly and there is a great atmosphere in the cafe. Both the walk and cafe are definately worth visiting. We will return.”
“Came here today as going past, it was absolutely lovely inside. I had a latte and my parents had a pot of tea for two. Both were very nice and brought to the table. The cakes looked very nice and we hopefully will get time to stop by and try them another time. They do breakfast and sandwiches, soup and scones too. Loved the heart on the latte, it was very cute.”
“Really, really enjoyed our lunch here. Everything was spot on - except I did hit my head on the low doorway! Food was very good, service was friendly and personable. Definitely recommend.”
“This place is great, I go for the Brook Breakfast. 2 Eggs done perfect, 2 bacon rashers, 2 tasty sausage, tomatoes and 2 large toasted and buttered pieces of tiger loaf. Whats not to like, food always hot, staff always friendly. Wide range of food on menu. Covid rules are strictly adhered to. P. S, Check out their cake selection. P. P. Totally fresh Sandwiches, Pork Pies, Sausage rolls, Quiche and much more. A variety of Sandwiches and Cakes. Great Value and Quality. See picture, shows all of quantity the cakes provided but only part of the savouries and sandwiches as we kept some in fridge until required. UPDATE: Christmas afternoon tea. 2022 Went for Christmas afternoon tea today. See photos. “Great cafe, which we found by chance. Fast, friendly service and the lemon and blueberry sponge was one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. Good coffee too. One of my friends had the bread and butter pudding, which they said was excellent. All home made. A real gem!”
“Today was our first visit to this place and we were very impressed. Great menu and good prices. We both had breakfast and can't fault the food and friendly service. The kids menu also looks very good so we shall soon be back our little ones!”
“Lovely little shop on a main road. Very welcoming people, very pleasant, polite and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious, and hot in temperature when served. Portion size was excellent. The food itself was delicious. Definitely going back.”
“I often call in for a brunch and a cup of tea on a Saturday and really love the atmosphere and feel of the place- it’s so cosy and cute. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I knew they did afternoon tea and ordered some to take away for a baby shower. It was amazing! You had so much food for the price and it all tasted absolutely fantastic. Everyone at the shower said the same. Will be booking afternoon tea again for sure!”
“Had afternoon tea for 5 people today. A mixture of normal afternoon teas, savoury teas and one gluten free tea. All were delicious with lovely sandwiches and cakes freshly made by Kirsty one of the owners. And starting at £18 for the normal afternoon tea it was excellent value. A lot of effort went into making the gluten free tea and this one didn't disappoint as they have done at other venues. The service was excellent, attentive and very friendly. We will definately be going back for another afternoon tea and to sample other meals on the menu. I would definately recommend this quirky and comfortable little cafe to anyone.”
“Really great and dog friendly,.cakes are amazing, and the food, nice decor, definitely returning!”
“Can't thank Martyn and his team enough for hosting my baby shower, he was so helpful with setting up and then the food and service on the day was amazing!”
“Food is the best I've had from any Cafe in Wolverhampton. And I've been to most to them. Service is always great. Staff are polite and caring. Food always come pretty quickly. And it's consistent. Abit more on the pricey side but in my opinion it's definitely worth it. Atmosphere is always spotless, tables are cleaned constantly. Never too busy, you'll always get a table. Best Cafe in Wolverhampton”
