This is the second year that we have had Christmas Dinner at the Harvester. Cairo, who organises Christmas Day, is friendly, organised and approachable. The team work well together. Lola was our waitress for the day and she was amazing. Very attentive, polite and happy. Michelle and Logan worked at the pass/bar and Jacasta, James and Marle were in the kitchen. The food was delicious and on time. No waiting. Our table was ready for 2pm and courses were timed well. We had finished our four courses by 3.30pm. We will definitely be back next year. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas to all who worked today.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the wonderful staff at Harvester. Every time we visit, we truly feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere, as if we were returning home. Every member of the team is consistently polite, friendly, and full of positive energy. From the front-of-house staff to the kitchen team, everyone wears a joyful smile that makes our dining experience exceptional. We would especially like to recognise Emma, Diane, Emma-Lou, and Jemma. They always greet every guest with the warmest smiles and the most genuine hospitality. Their enthusiasm and kindness never go unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate their dedication.

Let's start with the good... The food came quick and good. There's parking. Love the building, as always Harvester has quaint character building. Now the not so impressed with... Service was terrible, I can understand the fact that we have not booked a table, but it wasn't a full house, we were placed in the bar area which we are grateful for, we just travelled and were very hungry, however we were given a table that is near the toilets and front door, every time the doors open we either had a whiff of the toilets or the cold drafts. The waitress was rude, couldn't be bothered attitude, the same one who sat us, when asked for some service we were ignored. The salad bar was messy and empty, not impressed at all. The toilets has no toilet paper. Not all customers will fall in line with what the restaurant staff desires but nonetheless we are your customers who are giving you our money in exchange for good food and services, the least expected is that the basics should be delivered. Something for this branch to reflect?

Stopped in here on the way back from Alton Towers. Decent restaurant and good service, friendly staff! Food was ok but not the best from a harvester, chips tasted a little rubbery, almost like they’d been microwaved and not freshly cooked, and the haddock tasted very dry! Food came out in fairly good time as it’s wasn’t too busy here when we visited. Would consider another visit but wouldn’t rush back!

Absolutely appalled at the food. Hardly any salad in the salad bar, just peppers, sweet corn and pasta and even they were nearly empty! No salad dressings, blue cheese dressing and thousand island dressing, all empty. To top it off, when I was eating my salad. Got a hair in my mouth that was in my salad. Told the waiter who said the kitchen staff didn’t have hair nets on that day, how disgusting! Took it to the kitchen to tell them, didn’t get an apology or anything after that. No acknowledgement about the hair found in my food. Then they didn’t have what I wanted on the menu. When the steak came it was uncooked to how we requested so had to be sent back to the kitchen and then they didn’t even give a steak knife to eat it with. Then we ordered dessert and had to wait over half hour for 2 children ice creams. The whole evening out was a disappointment from start to end, won’t be going again. Also was freezing in there, no heating.

Excellent service received from Dan today.. Very polite and helpful with our queries. Went above and beyond when our food wasn’t correctly cooked , got it cooked to what we required and was so apologetic for the chefs ( who didn’t seem bothered ) . We think Dan would be an excellent Team Leader as has great attitude to his work and to his guests too .

Excellent place to eat. Fantastic salad bar and good food. Have put 4 star because the wait is long, don't go here if you are in a rush, we had to wait ages to get served then get the things we ordered. Don't know if this is usual for here but for us it took too long. Lovely place though, very quaint and relaxed atmosphere.

Friendly staff, but I had over a 40 minute wait to even order or be sent up for salad. I had to go find the staff to ask if we could order, then again when the food was wrong, again when we needed cutlery and again when I needed to pay. The kids meal arrived wrong and then so did their desserts and the main meals were all over cooked, bread rolls were nearly uncutable, but my pudding tasted nice. The tables all around us were still dirty and full of plates.

Well the restaurant itself was nice and so are the staff and food. BUT we arrived at 18:45 and we were seated immediately as we had booked the food order was not taken until 19:27 one of my children ordered fish fingers and mash but got veggie finger instead next Wes the sweet also incorrect we got two cookies Instead of one cookie and one Sunday ice cream to get the bill we had to hunt down the staff we got out at 20:45 a long time for the kids
