   My husband and I went for dinner at the Farthing yesterday (2nd Dec 25). The staff, Hannah, Dwayne and Callum were very friendly, they were also helpful when selecting food and drink. The food was excellent, my husband had the Chip shop banquet, which was really nice and really good value for money. I had the Hearty Salad which was excellent, all ingredient were fresh and very tasty. Thank you for a lovely evening.

   Great community pub, always have a good time when we visit. The Macmillan coffee morning yesterday was a lovely event for all the family. Jess, Lorna and Sarah were a pleasure as always! The food is great value for money and it's consistently good quality. It's so nice to have this place on your doorstep, a real heart of castle bromwich. Keep up the good work guys!!

   8 of us popped in at short notice (20/08), hoping for a bite to eat. The staff were lovely and accommodating and managed to find us 2 tables and pushed them together for us. We loved the food - hats off to the chef - it was beautiful and hot! We will definitely be returning, thank you so much Team Farthings

   Good was excellent. Service of the food was excellent. At the bar maybe due to the amount of people to be served. We were rushed, felt like it was too much. Had to explain we wanted large drinks several times. My son in law was made you feel unwelcome.

   This out has recently undergone a refurbishment, I found it welcoming and a pleasant casual environment for lunch with friends. The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. As i am hralthy eating I chose the salad with quorn steak , I would have preferred it if there was a choice for 'real' meat, but the quorn tasted ok. The salad was lovely, it was presented artfully and tasted delicious. My friends had scampi, chips and peas and the portion size was good and again presented nicely on the rectangular plate. I would definitely visit here again as it is a pleasant relaxing unpretentious atmosphere.

   Pretty unremarkable food, and very very slow service. But it is cheap and almost every meal had a deal with a drink. Staff were nice and polite, but just very slow, and when you're waiting for food slow is not good. Its not a bad pub but on the scale of pubs its bordering below average, just serves its purpose. Wouldnt avoid, but wouldnt recommend. A Wehetherspoons is usually much much better
