   Pub only. Staff poor. Barged into my Mrs, and bar staff miserable, the misery we were blessed with rubbed her hand all over the spout on the madri to clean it, which I thought was a bit rough. All said and done the guiness is to die for. Just don't expect the two staff we saw to be decent.

   Very accommodating - staff seated 12 of us in our party when we visited on spec today. The food was excellent and offered fantastic value for money. The pint of Bakewell Best Bitter was a superb accompaniment to my Steak and Kidney pudding! I highly recommend a visit.

   We’ve just had a meal here and it wasn’t great. My burger was burnt, no staff came over to check everything was ok. Then the guy started clearing plates away, didn’t once say anything. So I mentioned my burger was burnt. The only response I got was ‘sorry about that’ and off he went. Good customer service would have dealt with the matter of offering a refund as I didn’t eat the mean. Or offer to replace the meal for me. It cost £17 and that’s a lot of money for not eating the meal. Wouldn’t return.

   Decent hotel, seems under rated at 3 stars? Friendly staff, beer & food was good too. Rooms nice. No toilet roll in ours and they don't offer breakfast but on the whole, a good experience. I would stay there again.

   Called in for a beer whilst having a lovely day in this beautiful town , went to the bar and waited for 10 mins at the bar as a young lad had said I was ok to wait there , a miserable woman behind the bar ,when I asked why others were getting served before me , said get in the que , with a tone of voice like I was a begger not a customer, we walked out and went next door and was greeted with a smiling face and great service , will definitely not be going again , it costs nothing to be polite after so many pubs lose there business from losing punters, just add ,the reply i got was another blame deflection , read all the owners replys !!! Always the Customer !! Never the owner !!

   Can't understand some of these negative reviews I've been a number of times and the food is amazing , the staff are so polite and service is always top class .was talking to the guy behind the bar yesterday as we went for dinner very friendly and liked the same music as me which was even better as we had a good conversation haha . But seriously try this pub it's super clean and friendly you won't be disappointed.

   Go here often for a drink while my daughter goes to a club, always a friendly service. Ate there for the first time a week or so ago and it was absolutely delicious, really tasty, great service.

   I was here so many times before yesterday and I have been always happy. But yesterday I found that something has changed, the menu in particular and also the quality of food (meat of burger, mushy peas and potatoes). The lamb shank and the pies were nice. The vegetables as well were so much nicer in the past. What happened? I really hope things will improve as I really love this place. Btw the staff was really nice and kind yesterday.

   We did not stay at the Peacock but stopped there for lunch on our visit to Bakewell. We visited on a warm October day and sat outside with our dogs. Food was good, piping hot and served in a timely manner.

   We went for a bit of lunch to The Peacock. We had 2 fruit ciders and 2 panini sandwiches with chips and it came to £48. Absolutely disgusting. How on earth they can charge that is beyond me. I’ve never been anywhere that is as overpriced as this. The man who served me was so abrupt and rude as well. I can’t believe the responses to the reviews on here from the owner, how unprofessional. Does he really think people are going to want to come to his pub if that is the way he is behaving to his customers? How about sorting the issues out instead of completely laying into people whilst sat behind a computer!! £48 is disgusting for what we had. Atrocious customer service. I’m honestly disgusted with the prices and with the nasty owner.
