Genuinely the worst shopping experience ever the service is awful they forced my little sister to wait outside in 2 degree weather because they wouldn't allow us both whilst we were just trying to buy some toys its so ageist and totally ridiculous and to add insult to injury two other teenagers were allowed in without receiving the same prejudice
I pre-ordered an item that was meant to be held for 48 hours (14–16 Nov). When I called on the 15th, staff told me I could collect it anytime on the 16th. But when I arrived before noon, the employee and manager claimed it had already been put back on sale and said they had “no control over who I spoke to.” The manager and overall store management were extremely poor, and because of their mixed messages I ended up with nothing on both days. If you’re trying to get Pokémon products, avoid this store.
I queued for around 4 hours at Smyths Toys Superstores Longbridge (along with my friend — we were among the first 20 in line) for the Pokémon pokemon phantasmal flames pre-order event. Despite our early arrival, we only managed to get 1 ETB because the event was completely disorganized and unfairly managed. The manager on duty, Steven, did not hand out the pre-order forms before customers entered. Instead, he allowed everyone to choose whichever queue they wanted — there were four counters deep inside the store and two near the entrance. This meant that people who arrived much later (only waiting 1–2 hours) went straight to the front counters and completed their pre-orders first, while those of us who had waited the longest were pushed to the back. When I asked the manager about it, he said he had “no control” over which queue people chose — which is honestly unacceptable. A manager should be able to maintain order and ensure fairness, especially for a first-come, first-served event. The whole process was chaotic, frustrating, and unfair to the customers who followed the rules and queued early. I really hope Smyths reviews this incident and improves management for future pre-orders so that customers who arrive early are treated fairly.
Disgusting store should be ahsamed of who they employ! Today the store assistant Beth Falsely accused myself and my pregnant partner of shoplifting!!! On the basis of "we didn't see you buy anything and we didn't see you put any items back on the shelf!?!" She had the nerve to follow us into M&S and publicly accuse us in front of everyone including the M&S staff who also expressed they felt sorry for us! We returned to the store with Beth informing her we were disgusted and wanted to see a manager, the duty manager Serine was then very dismissive and was justifying the actions of what they had done stating they have alot of theft at the store and we had large bags so were going on impulse!!! Disgusting head office complaint incoming! Only positive Fairplay is to the Longbridge centre security guard for his understanding, compassion and professionalism during this whole distressing and unnecessary situation. Never shop here unless you want to be victimised and falsley accused head office and area manager complaint in process!

Walked in the store to get a gift card with my wife son and nephew to be approached by 2 managers and told was caught shop lifting but refused to give and proof have not been in the shop since Christmas were we spend over £900 manager was rude will be taking this matter further
Nice big store and plenty of parking with reasonable size bays. Never seems too busy when I've been and always been a good experience. Can be expensive experience but that's your fault for having kids :) Good store and a few places to eat nearby if you work up an appetite and have any money left.
If you want to make your children very happy come to this shop is very nice, cheap and have a lots of toys. I bought my son and my daughter in Eid al fitter and bought these toys in just 130£. I would like to say amazing shop and staff. A lots of shops around it such as poundland and M&S . Free car park for 3 hours then be careful you have to pay. Thank you.
