   Wonderful intimate authentic Japanese restaurant well located in a little alley off Rose St . We booked - as was suggested by reviewers- and enjoyed good friendly service and great food choices . We particularly enjoyed the sashimi scallop, miso black cod and the teriyaki salmon dishes . Recommend you book so you don’t miss out !!

   It was Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Down to the last minute details. とてもおいしかったです！！！！^_^ We ate Tonkotsu Ramen (probably the best I had in my life!) and Pork Gyoza. Those two were a perfect combo! I would love to eat there again! Also chef Tang (head of Hakataya) was very funny and nice. Just looking at the photos of the food I had makes me remind of the wonderful flavour and aroma.

   We came for a quick lunch before our flight. We ordered chirashi Don, salmon & avocado Don and a pot of tea. We never got to try the food, after waiting 45 mins our tea was all cold and the food still had not arrived. We had a flight to catch so asked how much longer it was going to take, and were told 10-15 mins and we should leave if we don't like it, so we left. The stuff we ordered was just raw fish on rice, it should have been ready almost immediately, no idea why we had to wait. So the take away from this is, don't come here if you are short on time.

   Arrived in Edinburgh and fancied Ramen for dinner, came across this place on Google not too far from my hotel. The ramen was pretty good, I'm not sure how the normal portion would have been but I got the extra noodles and i was pretty stuffed! The broth was pretty flavourful and definitely would go back again!

   You wouldn’t think you’d find an authentic, Japanese-owned restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh but here it is! Excellent quality and flavours. Wish we had another day for another meal here…but we’ll be back.

   Great vegetarian options, vegan too. The food quality was exceptional! The inari nigiri was delicious. The atmosphere was slow paced and relaxing. Not a quick done in experience but well worth it. I did find a hair on my food but I did eat it anyway (after removing it) and I didn't raise it with the staff (who looked very clean). In covid terms it is a small premises and the tables are close together. Price was well worth it with the quality of food served. Each dish below was £14.95!
