I went with my friends to Khartoum Cafe, and we really enjoyed our time there. The food was very tasty and full of great flavor. The owner was very nice, and the staff were kind and welcoming. The service was quick, and the prices were very good. I truly recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially for Habesha people. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy good food.

Everything was scrumptious and plenty of options for vegetarians! Plates were polished off and perfect amount of food - great lunch menu

Had a wonderful experience at Khartoum Cafe. The owner was friendly, attentive and created a lovely atmosphere. The food itself was delicious: so flavourful and balanced. I especially loved the Salata Aswad. Been past this place so many times and kicking myself it’s taken me so long to go in but now I have, I will definitely be back.

A calm, warm and delicious lunch. The service was attentive and so helpful when deciding between meals. I ordered a mint tea and fuul with flatbread. It came out fast and hot, with two falafels which weren’t in the menu! Best falafel and fuul I have ever had. The cumin flavour wasn’t overpowering and the beans were creamy and tender. Definitely coming out to try the basbousa as well!

You have to visit!! My family and I left Edinburgh completely addicted to this place and the tea and coffee are a must try! What a lovely hospitable family and an absolute cultural gem in Edinburgh. A nice cosy place to visit with family. Went with my little sister who was spoilt and left feeling so loved. She said it was her favourite restaurant in Edinburgh!

Excellent service, very polite and really friendly. I was hoping the food would match, but sadly I do have some complaints. The portion sizes are too small for my liking, the rice was a bit cold and not perfectly cooked, and the falafel wasn’t fresh. I’d give the food 3/5, and 5/5 for the service.

First time Visiting this small cosy Sudanese (Khartoum Cafe), we got the Falafel wrap and mixed minced lamb with vegetables and feta cheese. The food was amazing! Great quality and very very tasty. Also, the gentleman who runs this place is nice and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Any trip to Edinburgh is a waste if you don't stop here in my opinion. It's such a great little restaurant to pop in for some lunch. Personal favourite of mine is the jerk chicken wrap and if you like spicy food ask for some of the hot sauce to go with. The hot sauce seems to rotate as the first one I had was very spicy peanut sauce and the last was hibiscus chilli sauce but they're always great. The portion of baklava is very generous and great with a cup of tea or coffee. The gentleman who runs this place is very nice and welcoming Can't wait for my next visit
