This was a superb pub for drinking, encompassing two floors which helps with customer flow at busy periods! Service was on point and chandeliers are pretty, the different colours of the interior and designs on the wall are really nice too. Enjoyed Angelo Poretti and Stowford Press drinks, counter is well-presented and tables kept clean!
The Bright Helm Review Unlike the Post and Telegraph, which was awful Great Job with the Kids It's worth taking note. Warm and friendly staff can forgive a multitude of sins. I was in town for the football and wanted somewhere to take the kids first for lunch and have a beer. Even 3 hours brfore the match it was quite busy. We managed to find a seat however. Always friendly banter and ready to accept feedback. This was certainly a good day for The Bright Helm Wetherspoon doesn't claim anything it is not. You get what you pay for. They were well equipped with kids activity sheets and crayons, so no screens required. Wetherspoon can sometimes find it difficult to keep all food items at a decent temperature. Therefore ending up with items that are sometimes cold - not today though Both coffee machines working and toilets clean. No complaints
Packed for breakfast on sunny Sunday morning. My beer was nice and at £3.04 great value. Clean and well maintained and cheerful staff.
First of all, the food is good and the staff is nice. The toilet was clean ok. The only thing is, that the tables and chairs are a bit old and could be replaced.
The food is really nice, looks well good inside, only 4 stars for the food because it could have done with more chips, for the first time finish the chips before the fish. Overall, it was a nice place, looks clean, and tasty food.
Despite older reviews I have read-our visit was pleasant with fresh surroundings bright and airy plenty of windows - yes I did observe one bench seat had torn fabric the fitted carpet was in good condition the walls had fresh paint. Tables were available and freshly cleaned by a very polite industrious table server. Food and drinks must be ordered at the bar or through their smartphone app. Service at the bar when we’re there 12.45hrs was slow -only 1 serving. Food portions and quality was fine and was served piping hot. The ground floor is split level and there is also a first floor ( did not visit ) toddlers chairs are available. No background music - large wall mounted tv with subtitles switched on not suitable for wheelchair users. Free wi-Fi along with great value drinks with meals. Long haul route to toilets located in basement. We went Thursday which is deemed a Curry Thursday. Good location and a little quieter on foot fall this time of year. Pity they closed the George Street venue we rated that highly.
The Worst Weather spoon’s ever. I am sure it is going to be my last time here. Weather spoon’s was one of my all time favourite restaurant. Good value as well as the quality. The reason why i like the most is All main come with drink! :) I lovin it! Anyway, I came to Brighton and found one near the beach. The restaurant was clean and staff was good until i thought it was not possibly. I ordered gourmet 8oz steak for medium rare with Jackdaniel’s source. And what i received was steak with peppercorn source. It was fine anybody can make a mistakes. But the steak was not medium rare nor even medium. It was almost well-done. I asked staff about that and he said that he will change for me. That was a good part. Thank you very much!! But problem was they gave me not a sam quality steak as before (I tasted some from the dish right before so I can tell the differences) The taste and texture of steak was completely different and It was rarely possible to call medium rare again not even “medium” Of course the taste was horrible. the driest steak I have ever had in my life. I completely understand weather-spoon’s is budget restaurant. So I don’t really expect really good standard food from here. But at least not cheating thing? I am so disappointed from this restaurant.
Worst wetherspoon I've been in. Grubby, sticky furniture and carpet. Beer extensively advertised outside not in stock. Pizza ordered was too spicy to eat as what seemed like whole handful of red chilli flakes had been thrown over it. And how did they manage to get my previous review deleted?
In desperate need of refurbishment! Dirty tired looking place. Chairs all rotten and ripped. Furniture and carpet all stained. Very grim. In fairness though, food was good, along with the beer. Prices have shot up lately on food, beer remains extremely cheap.
Good location near the beach front, however let down when compared to other Weatherspoons pubs, ordered a meal using the QT code, service was quick, however cutlery was dirty and portions were smaller than normal. Lots of seating options but can see this being a very busy venue during summer months
