   Spent a lovely weekend at Firle Camp. The tent pitches were lovely and spacious with lots of room between the tents. The view up to the downs was beautiful and it was lovely and quiet - despite being not far from the main road there was very little traffic noise - just pheasants, owls and the nearby church bells. Very restful, peaceful and a great 'back to basics' camp.

   A great spot for a campsite however it’s basic and the facilities are pretty tired. It’s a shame there is no hot water for washing up (hard to remove grease etc ) and although the showers were warm, they are made of wooden boards and had weeds etc growing up in them. So good if you want a rustic camp, but if you want a bit more then possibly not. Kids wouldn’t use the compost toilets either. The weather was horrendous, but that’s British weather….!

   As campsites go, it's fine. Positive aspects: large field, no slope, all pitches are even and flat. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous and the walk to the village is short and delightful. It's also really quiet and not near any roads. On the other hand: the field is large and toilets and showers were really fast away from our assigned pitch. The first night was dark and even with my torch i got lost on the way back to the tent and walked around for quite a while trying to navigate the maze of paths that had been cut into the high grass. The showers are okay but nowhere near hot, just tepid unless someone else is having a shower at the same time when it gets up to a warm temperature. Which probably won't be a problem because there are only 2 of them on this large field so likely you will have company ;) Loos are 4 composting toilets. They are what they are. You have to climb quite a few steps as they are raised off the ground. It's nice that there are water points a little further into the field so you can collect water and even do your dishes there as there are sinks too. However, it's not an even distribution like some other sites have, they are still all clustered around the entrance. We didn't get to pick our own spot even though we arrived early and pitches aren't numbered or even marked (other than the mown areas). So we ended up not only far from the facilities but also next to a pig farm judging from the sounds and smell. That said, fortunately the smell remained quite subtle throughout our weekend stay despite the changing weather which included reading and heat. So it was actually okay in the end. Word of caution also that there are no trees and hence no shady spots anywhere. Overall I'd say the site is nice enough but gave the feel of someone just trying to do minimum effort for maximum profit. Nothing is really wrong with it but there are none of the nice touches that make other sites stand out, like some helpful lighting on paths or in the loos, play equipment, or any kind of character. They also don't supply garage collections and you have to take everything you bring. Which is fair enough but again just adds to the impression of no real love being put into the design of it all. It's a practical place and provides a decent spot from where to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding it. Nothing is wrong with it but it does lack the nicer facilities and personal touches that make me want to return to a site.

   We had a wonderful weekend with friends at this campsite. We had a large group of families with kids from 7 to 14 and they all loved it. It’s a safe environment with lots of space for the kids to explore. The Ram pub is a 15-20 minute beautiful walk away and serves great food and even better beer. The showers are hot and clean, if not a little rustic. The toilets were basic but also clean and always with toilet paper. I read other reviews and would agree that it is quite expensive, paying per person, per night. Especially when one of my family didn’t actually stay for 2 of the three nights. Paying by tent would make more sense, but less money ;-). Lots of thought has gone into the layout and spacing of the pitches, with long grass providing a physical and sound barrier between them. We stayed at the far end of the field, quite a walk to the toilets and showers, a bike to share between the group would have been useful. I would return. Thanks for the great service.

   An amazingly chilled campsite compared to others, just turned up and picked a vacant spot without hassle. Freddie was great, checking daily everything was good, thanks Freddie!!. Facilities were adequate, at the end of the day your camping and was good getting on this off grid place. Twenty minute walk to Firle Village, pub food had a bit of a strange selection, small shop for supplies. Overall a very peaceful bank holiday in this beautiful location and will certainly come back.

   Exactly what we needed - a quiet well-run campsite with lots of space. Ideal for family camping - we had a baby and a well behaved dog. We enjoyed the sky at night too. Didn't get to the pub but we will come back again!

   Firle is a beautiful, small campsite. We had lots of space, toilets and showers were good, within walking distance to a great pub with a great beach within 15 mins drive. Freddie really looked after us. We’ll be back

   Lovely field with large pitches with lots of space between them. Also a great location with nice views and an easy walk to the pub. But it was expensive for the facilities provided, which were very basic. No rubbish collection (you had to take it all home with you), no hot water for washing up, no lights in the showers or loos, a lukewarm (at best) shower where it was impossible to keep you shoes dry! There are other campsites nearby which offer better facilities at almost half the price...
