   If your goal is to visit brick and mortar pipe shops in the greater London area, then know in advance that you are largely wasting your time. The day of such establishments is long past. If you insist on trying anyway, then this shop in Reading is worth a rail ticket. Otherwise try J.J. Fox, then give up. The branch in Harrods is better than the main store in St. James’ in my opinion, but both are worth a look.

   Loved this tobacconist. Proper old school products, pipe tobacco and spirits, premium cigars, shaving paraphernalia. A man’s cave full of boys toys. Loved the service. Helped me choose a Davidoff cigar to enjoy.

   My mom and I are visiting from Chicago and we’re looking for cigars for my husband. We had been to Windsor, London and couldn’t find a cigar shop anywhere. Luckily when we got to Reading, there was one! Shave and Coaster not only had what I was looking for, but they were friendly and welcoming and helped me pick the best cigars (I have no experience in this so relied heavily on them) they were super nice and so lovely I couldn’t help myself to write a review for them. Please, please, please, go to their shop! They are absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much and thank you for the knife shop recommendation it worked out perfectly!

   They also sell the unique worldwide Whiskies and spectacular Rum too and I would recommend this place to everyone who loves Whiskies and their Rums too. The staff will advise you on the best tipple to buy. They are wonderful staff, very friendly and welcoming. Every Time I have purchased their Rums they always remember. The prices for these Worldwide Whiskies and Rums are fantastic too.

   First class in every way! I've smoked a pipe for decades, and the 'right' pipe knife for your hand is an important part of the ritual. My 'go-to' has always been the Rodgers standard - fits me like a glove, but I keep losing them. Increasing age and decreasing eyesight is NOT helping. Then I found they make it in colours - even I can see a bright red knife lying in the grass. Could I get one? Nope. Out of stock, blah, blah. I tried countless websites to no avail. In desperation I phoned Shave & Coster, where an extremely competent and helpful young man listened to what I wanted, and said 'Certainly, Sir - how many would you like?' I ordered two, which arrived, properly packaged, within 48 hours. Congratulations and well done, S & C!

   I love this little shop it's set in the heart of Harris arcade on friar street Reading. It's a small clean shop with the most helpful of staff to advise on your choice of many tobacco products. From pipe tobacco and hand rolling tobacco , cigarettes as well as many other products related to smoking and relaxation. This includes some alcohol and decanters and glasses . For the smoker it's the place in reading to go too. From the minute you walk in your welcomed with the beautiful aroma of tobacco in the air . As they also stock loose tobacco. Since I've been in I've actually found their website and I order from the comfort of my sofa. But I would go in but It's normally delivered the next day. Even if you don't smoke just go in for the experience of olde world charm . And the beautiful aroma. Totally old school .
