We booked this pub for lunch as we were walking in the local area. We had booked and had a seat in the bar as we had dogs and a child. We had an area which gave enough space and the floors were stone so perfect for the dogs. The staff were very friendly and took our order. They had options both in the menu and the specials board. I had the burger which was tasty and the relish it came out with paired well with the chips. A nice venue, great pit stop if you are wiling or cycling locally. Only improvement could be the coke that was a bit weak and tasteless.

Disappointing Sunday lunch. The venue is excellent, albeit parking is a problem. The staff are great and decent beer. But the food was not up to standard (and not especially cheap either)

Came here for a Birthday and Anniversary celebration which i had referred to on the booking, nothing was said or done about this which i found poor, it doesn’t cost anything to say Happy Birthday/Anniversary from a member of staff or a simple candle in a pudding with a Happy Birthday/Anniversary message piped on a plate. Food was okay, i’ve been here multiple times before and loved it yet today was below par, food was luke warm and took an eternity for mains and even longer for desert to come out, even though it was a Wednesday evening and there was our table of 3 and two other tables of 2 and 4, that was it. Very disappointed, as had traveled a distance to come here for a celebration and unfortunately didn’t feel like that from the staff, service or food.

Service was excellent. Came for lunch. Menu has an interesting Greek influence with some typical greek dishes and some more traditional British pub ones. Portions were very good. Prices on the higher pub end one.

Came today for roast but sadly food very bland ! Roast potatoes not roasted ! We came today as we have been before had the most amazing roast . Not sure if you have changed chefs but definitely not as good ! Gravy tasted like oxo, roast potatoes very pale and undercooked , no seasoning on anything ! My husband had fish and chips very small portions , and again very bland ! Was very busy were we were seated at the bar area , so service not great, not there fault as they could not get through ! Just a shame we were not seated in restaurant Such a shame as we recommended our friends to come due to our past visit !

This place is incredible, it has a fantastic mixture of dinning and drinking. The food is amazing from the starters to the deserts. I’ve been many of times and I am never afraid to change my order as every single food on the menu is just cooked to perfection. My kids also loved their food but more importantly they loved the staff, the staff are very friendly and warming, Leo the gentleman that runs it is one of the nicest guys I’ve met and he was the reason I started going there. He worked at another restaurant a few years ago and because of his great service he provided, me and my wife had to follow him on his new ventures. Honestly if you need a good affordable lunch, date night, family dinner or even a drink this place is a must. Thank you Leo and the team for being amazing!

Went for a meal for 2 starters went down OK chicken wings can't really go wrong with those. Went on to the mixed grill pork was slightly chard the thick chips were dry the steak was very nice but the thing that gave it 2 stars was the lack of care for the customers. The music was turned up to a point I couldn't hear my wife talking, then it went down, then up the bar getting abit animated not really a place I would revisit for a meal for 2.

Discovered The Derby Inn by searching Maps for 'pubs near me' during a disappointing meal at the nearby Mill House. The Derby is delightful, attractive from the outside and clean and spacious inside. We were welcomed by charming staff and a cheering real fire. There is a very tempting à la carte menu, which we are keen to work out way through, and a good range of specials. Some of the appealing and unusual menu items point towards a Greek influence, and it turns out the pub is owned/run by a Greek family. We were sad to be too full to try the Greek Orange Tart for dessert! We can't wait to return.

Have eaten here a few times now, have had two family celebration meals and the hard working staff go above and beyond and it really shows, they couldn't be more helpful. One of the meals was a birthday and all of the staff sung Happy Birthday and really got involved. It's great service like this that stays with you. The food is lovely, good range of drinks with a lovely outside seating area too. Thank you.
