“Our son moved from his secondary school and joined SML College in year 8. It was the best decision we made, he is happy and thriving in the new environment, inspired to learn and pursue his interests with a lot of support and opportunities. He loves the community and excited about going to school every single day, which is a great change from attending his mainstream secondary school. Changing schools has transformed his school life, learning experience, social life and consequently our home life and having a happy and thriving child is worth every effort.”

“Since becoming a student at LVS Harvey has begun a journey . He is able to have friendships, start socialising with the support of members of the team. There has been a definite change in his attitude towards life. He was very low when he first started, having been both internally and externally excluded at his main stream school for virtually a year, before that very confused and troublesome in his class. Harvey's mental health is the most significant improvement, I feel this is due to the actual facing up to the issues he struggles with within his Autism, being allowed to be himself, and not having to 'hold' his behaviour all day as in other settings. By being able to challenge his at times extremely aggressive behaviours he is beginning to recognise and at times successfully avoid such aggressive outbursts/ meltdowns. The discovery that music is a great therapy for him could only of happened at LVS where he is nurtured to try, believe in himself and both succeed and accept failure at times. His very fragile self esteem at least beginning to improve due to this. I hope that his continued attendance will eventually enable a lovely worthwhile young man to realize that he is just that and allow him to accept and manage the difficult aspects of Autism and embrace the amazing things that being Autistic can bring.”

“It's not a bad college. The staff (both teaching staff and support staff) definitely care about the outcomes of their students. There's a nice vibe about it, and students seem to get on with each other nicely. A great library with a wide selection of services, books, printing and borrowing of laptops. The only criticism I would have would probably be over communication. Staff can be hard to contact at times as emails often don't get responded to. But that is my only criticism. There is a cafe and a refectory that offers a free breakfast to students, this was something I took advantage of when I was there.”

If you're looking to do IT, I CANNOT recommend it enough! It is SO good AND you get taught a lot of things! Only being at college for a few weeks has made me be the happiest in YEARS! I cannot recommend this college enough! It is AMAZING!!!”
