Hotel in Wishaw

“My husband and I had an overnight stay at The Commercial Hotel and would definitely recommend it. There is a spacious car park at the rear of the hotel. Very friendly staff at check in (sorry can't remember the ladies name who checked us in & also served us at dinner and breakfast). I was lucky enough to get one of the first two rooms downstairs with a balcony. The room itself was spotless. There were plenty of tea's and coffees available with complimentary biscuits, it was a nice touch. After settling in the room we went down to the bar for food, the steak and sausage pie is delicious I would definitely recommend trying it. Later that night after returning from a birthday party the nightclub was in full swing, you couldn't hear anything from the downstairs room but if you walked up to the top floor you could hear the music blaring. For those looking for a quieter stay I recommend asking for the lower floor rooms. The only criticism I can add is that I had trouble connecting to the WiFi in the room but in fairness that didn't really bother me. I do have to say though after having a delicious meal at dinner time I was very disappointed with the breakfast. The Scottish breakfast came out with scrambled egg which was disgusting and tasted burnt, the sausage wasn't that great either, the only nice thing's on the plate were the black pudding and potato scone. We would definitely love to return for a visit even if it is only to have the steak pie.”

“Our dog absolutely loves going to Doggywood. He goes for daycare and has boarded many times. The staff are all lovely and really enjoy taking care of the dogs. Our dog can’t wait to get in once he gets out the boot and then doesn’t look back. We get sent video clips of the dogs from their visit and it’s amazing to see them all having fun. Our dog comes home a very tired boy after lots of interactions. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s absolutely amazing and the facilities are first class.”

Freddo was as happy as ever to go stay, and when I picked him up he was just as happy as when I left him. “There was a bit of a wait at check in. Only one computer and after a long walk from train station, it was not ideal. They were very apologetic and kind. Staff were lovely. Warm and friendly. I have Autism and ADHD, and I found everyone very helpful and supportive when I wished to request the same room for my next stay. Very fun interactions between staff. Which gave the environment a positive feel. The room was amazing! Plenty of space. Clean. Well stocked. I did not wish housekeeping. I prefer my space left until I leave because of my Autism, knowing someone I don’t know has been in the room can feel uncomfortable. I am not messy anyway, so nothing to do. They respected the sign on the door every day. Not one knock. Which I really appreciated! Quieter than expected. And really a gem for some quiet time away from home. I am back in two days! And have found my little home away from home to decompress and relax. Highly recommended!”
