“We booked Stu for a child's birthday party and can not recommend him highly enough. He kept 20 children (& a few extra adults keen to have a go) engaged for 2 hours patiently showing them a variety of different circus skills appropriate to their age so they felt they could really have a go at mastering them. Feed back from children and parents alike after the party was overwhelmingly positive. In fact one child said it was the "best party they had ever been to".”
“We went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night. Having seen the original London show several times, we were excited to see the musical again. We were not disappointed; the sets looked great, and the singing and dancing were excellent. It was the first time we'd been to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, but it won't be the last.”
“Very welcoming, accidentally walked past , and curiously wanted to know what the queue outside was for. Was told it was a comedy. So stayed to watch. Really enjoyed ourselves, really good improvisation. Didn't really know what we was in for. Was really surprised in a good way. Also the audience were so friendly and inviting. Whilst we were unsure in the queue, they were like ' oh don't go , please stay '. Was very touched by the friendly acceptance in a world full of uncertainty.”
“One of our favourite places for a boogie in York. Banging music, service us good. Only feedback was the toilets which were a state and could so with someone cleaning them up every hour. Whilst u understand its a late night pub not all of us are 18 and can't handle our ale so having a pee in a cleaner place is always appreciated”
“Delicious quiche and salad for brunch served with a cappuccino in the beautiful garden. A definite must do if you are in the York area:”
“A good night for entertainment. A game of bingo ,open the box a music quiz and a singer .What more can you want . Very friendly. Spotlessly clean and modern . Oh and a raffle for a meat prize. Cheap drinking as well. Well worth a visit.”
“Absolutely love the Irish Centre on York Road Leeds. The building is lovely clean and tidy, staff are polite and friendly. The entertainment and Tribute acts are brilliant and it has a great dance floor. And apparently on a Saturday evening now they have live music every week so get out of the house while your still breathing and able.. Enjoy Life.”
“Absolutely love this venue. A hidden gem in York which offers theatre goers an intimate experience. The setting allows you to really feel part of what is onstage. We loved our recent visit and will be back as soon as we are able!”
“Lovely meal at olive tree. Friendly service with a warm welcome into a nicely decorated dining area.Special thanks to rumel and safa.. Busy on a saturday evening. We were a group of 6 peoples. We ordered starters and main both.. For the main, 3 of our party had the Steak and each opted for a different sauce option. I chose peppercorn and would recommend this. Steak was juicy and cooked well to a medium rare. Fries were thin and crispy. For dessert I had the Tiramisu . This was the best tiramisu. I tried. I also had a glass of the Merlot this was nice. The toilets were well decorated and flushed effectively. Everything was spot on.. Surely,Would definitely back again..”
“Great lectures always taken place in this theatre. In school but open for public before pandemic.”
“Fantastic, Jamie Cane did a great job DJ'ing our engagement party and I would reccomend sound out disco to anyone. Dj equipment arrived on time and so did Jamie.”
